Okay, why should I become a Christian? Besides the prospect of a long, hot swim in the lake of fire if I don't conform, name one reason why I should believe in Jesus and why I should go back to Christianity.

*NOTE: I was raised in the religion but renounced it when I realized it was just fear keeping me bound to it.

This was a question that I fought about within myself for a long time. I was not raised in a Christian home. There really isn't an answer to this. Nobody "should" become a Christian. A person likes to seek out other people that think and feel the same as they do. A place that makes them feel happy, secure, and comfortable. A place where they are cared for, a place where you belong. For some that is a church (of one find or the other) or not. It doesn't matter. As long as it doesn't hurt anyone else what does it matter?

I would have left also if it was just fear keeping you there.

I am a Christian because after looking back at the last 40 years of my life, I have found that my happiest times were when I was more closely following the laws of God and the worst times was when I was trying to find happiness in consumerism, partying, and sin.

I now realize that Christians can still have fun and that is what God wants for us, happiness on earth and an eternity in heaven. With this realization, I am a Christian out of Love of God, not fear.

I think that is the way God wants it.

Just my humble opinion.

Good Luck and may Peace be with you!

Do you still believe in God? A loving God? If not, no answer anyone gives will convince you--and maybe that's your point.

Truly following Christ is not about avoiding the hellfire and brimstone. It's about becoming closer to God.

Jesus, through his life and teachings, set an example for us on how to live life in a way that is pleasing to God and that fulfills God's desires for us. A lot of people find that living in harmony with God provides a great deal of peace and assurance. It's a comforting thing, not a fearful one.

But you have to come up with your own reasons for returning to the church or not. Other people's reasons might give you something to think about, but they'll never really be good enough, unless you reach those conclusions on your own.

No matter where you wind up in your faith journey, I wish you peace.

Jesus died on the cross for you because he loved you with an intensity that no one else on this earth could ever even come close to. He died to give you eternal salvation with him. I have never met or known anyone other than him willing to lay down his life for me. That's the kind of person we should all have in our lives. He is the way, the truth and the life. I honestly find it very hard to believe that there is so many people out there who don't get it. Sorry.

The costs i've got seen interior the bible confer with no longer marking your self in rememberance of the ineffective. Or harming your man or woman physique out of grief or discomfort. the two certainly one of those have been pagan practices on the time the bible became written and forbidding their practice seperated Christians and Jews from the loads. additionally marks for the ineffective might properly be interpreted as focusing on the guy's dying fairly of their promised existence in heaven and destiny resurrection. different individuals have informed me that tattoos are marks of conceitedness, an illustration which you're centred on the textile international, disrespectful on your physique, and so forth. as a count of actuality that a lot of human beings use their tattoos as non secular expression and as ornament to your maximum suitable present from god. in case you like a tattoo to keep in mind your background, then you fairly are starting to be it that could be useful you alongside your direction in existence. that's no longer self damaging or any of the different issues the bible warns against. as properly, the hot testomony exists to grant an exceptionally ordinary message: jesus and god forgive you for any errors you may make and love you. in case you suspect in that form of element, this is.

Christianity is a relationship with Christ, not religion.

It's an exciting life, filled with joy in knowing that our Father is always near and always wants what is good for us.

Christians aren't perfect, but we're forgiven. And knowing that our name is written in the Lamb's Book of Life, gives us courage to face things in life that we couldn't face any other way.

I never threaten anyone with hell because God wants me to tell the Good News of Christ, not the bad news of rejecting Him.

Living life as a Christian is both challenging and exciting beyond belief. I can't imagine any other way of living!

Because in your heart you know that God is real and Jesus is His Son. Which would mean you believe God's Word.

Or maybe you don't?

But I can't think of any other reason why it would be on your mind all the time, so MUCH so that you constantly post on Yahoo! Answers about the subject.

Life is tough, everyone suffers. Some for a purpose and with blessing following and some just suffer for nothing.

If I'm going through this tough life, I am going to do it for Jesus rather than for anything or anyone else.

And.... when I made the choice to believe, I was immediately given gifts, answered prayers and the eternal security that is promised me.

Some people focus on hell as "the glass is half empty". But we don't try to please God just to avoid hell. (As most people obey the law because they believe it's the right thing to do [whether or not they believe in God], not because they just want to avoid going to prison.) And God doesn't want us to do that either.

Instead, try looking at how full the glass is. God loves us as parents love their children. Parents want the best for their children, and for their children to obey them. God loves and cares for us in the same way. He sacrificed His Son to die for our sins. He blessed us with this wonderful life (sorry to sound so Jimmy-Stewart-ish). God offers us so much, including the promise to be with Him forever, if we'll just believe and have faith in Him. Have a great day!

IN HEAVEN:
You recieve a body fashioned after Christ's Glorious Body, He has prepared a Place for us, a Mansion and Streets of Pure Gold but the Greatest Thing About Heaven is that we are in the Presence of God the Father, Christ, our Lord and Savior and the Holy Ghost.Amen

John 14:1-4 (King James Version)
King James Version (KJV)

John 14
1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
