If your mom doesn't really believe then you should have no trouble telling her. It's your Grandma you should worry about here. Just, be kind about it. Tell her that Christianity isn't the right path for you. It might be for her, but not you.

You are turned off by organized religion, not Christianity. Real Christianity is the most exciting adventure in the world, but it's hard to find in most churches. They have taught so many untrue things about God that it's no wonder you're confused.
Oh, you can find lots of church activities, but not much truth.
At one time in my life I was confused because my preacher said one thing and my Bible said another. So I bought a Strong's Concordance of Hebrew and Greek and started learning the true meaning of Bible words. Now, it's just me and God and it's great to have Christianity without the religion.
Instead of telling your Mom and Grandma you don't believe, ask them to study with you at home. You can still go the church, but just as a visitor. Here's a good place to get some study material free of charge. http://www.PTM.org

I recommend examining different religions, so as which you would be able to talk along with her at a extra recommended point. to illustrate, i became into around 30 once I discovered of the Baha'i faith. i became into raised Christian, yet had no theory regarding the various different great options interior the international. once I grew to alter into extra recommended, i became into then in a position to talk with my kinfolk at a extra mature point. Wishing you the perfect!

I'd say break it gently, by saying you have some doubts about it or that you're not sure. That may open a conversation with your Mom about what she thinks. Maybe a good, frank, and loving chat about it would clear the air.

You don't 'have to go to church'. Just say you don't believe in it and you refuse to support something that causes so much hatred and violence.
