Read the following link carefully. Lots of good advice. You can start now setting up your banking and begin memorizing Coast Guard ranks and chain of command. Have a former or current military person teach you how to properly salute.

Thank you for volunterring. We love you! I wish you the best of luck at Cape May.

Get on the USCG TRACEN Cape May website.

Get a copy of the Helmsman from your recruiter and learn it front to back.

Tell your recruiter you want to watch the bootcamp video. haven't seen it but I hear it's pretty accurate.

Up your workouts and get used to drinking water

I could tell you a lot but the best part is learning as you go. It was the best experience of my life.

Listen to everything that is said.

Have a positive attitude and NEVER FORGET in the course of your training-or your career- WHY YOU ARE THERE. Everyone has his/her own reason. Your reason will be your internal motivator.

Good luck.

Go back to your USCG recruiter and ask this question since she/he was there.

They check your pulse and see if you float.
