my son will be 7 years old soon...
is it possible he could be getting armpit hair already?
what would be the cause?
how do i STOP it??
i'm freaking out, and i don't want my "baby" to be growing up so fast.

the reason why i think it's armpit hair is i cleaned his armpit, and even rubbed it and the tiny black dots wouldn't come
off....

so, any suggestions/ideas/advice etc??? or if do you not think it's armpit hair, what is it then??

thanks in advance!! :0)

could it be the milk? i've been having him drink a lot of milk lately (he's small for his age and i want him to "bulk" up a little)

Just to let you know...i remember going through puberty and when i was getting armpit hair, it was little black dots that wouldn't rub off.

i don't make my son feel bad or feel self-consious as someone said.

oh, back to the milk q:
if i switch to organic milk, could this "reverse" the affects of regular milk?

ask your dr. at his next well-child check. Don't make a huge deal out of it- and don't freak out for goodness sake! I kind of think it may be clogged pores, but who knows? My grandson had to start using deoderant at age 7- whew did he stink! He's almost 12 now and really growing up at an alarming rate- but that's life, isn't it?! Milk, organic or otherwise has nothing whatsoever to do with any of this- just continue to feed him good, wholesome food. Oh, and you mentioned that he is a little on the small side- I've noticed that the kids that actually mature physically at an earlier age are the ones that are a little on the tall side for their age. Don't worry!

It's normal don't worry about it. if he starts o grow a 'stach or hair down there, t hen take him to the doctor. It's not the milk. The milk is fine. If anything, cutback on the mass-produced meat. Those animals come from factory farms, and are bulked up on hormones to make them bigger, which is why girls are getting boobs and starting their periods sooner.
Milk comes from dairy farms, which are usually local.

Could be black heads or clogged pores. Armpit hair wouldn't be dark black on a 7 year old. This may sound weird but try using a pore cleaner on it and see if it helps. Its summer and he's probably dirty and sweaty in there and 7 year olds don't always wash themselves thoroughly

kids hit puberty. it happens
you need to get over it and not make him feel self conscious. Alot of kids get armpit and thickened leg hair when they are between the ages of 7-11 so you just have to deal with it and be happy that you have a healthy little boy

Kids are going through puberty earlier now. I think its all the hormones in milk. There are girls getting thoer periods at 9. You can't stop it just be prepared for some other stuff to follow.

Well, hair we haven't dealt with, but our 7 year olds needed deodorant because of extreme odor.

Kids are reaching puberty younger, and some people think it's the chemicals in our food. Who knows? Take care of that little one, teach him well, and pray for the best. (smile) Oh, and get him some good deodorant! (grin)

Yes it is possible. My daughter started growing hair also at that early age. I thought it was just a hair out of place until I tried to pull it out. OUCH! I was devistated. My baby girl is already growing hair in places that I thought were to come later on in her life. Now, she is going on 12 and has started her period. Scary isn't it? I let her shave her legs now, since she has to shave under her arms anyways. Something I was hoping to put off. Our babies aren't babies anymore.
