CORNELL CHICKEN BBQ SAUCE
1 c. cooking oil
2 c. cider vinegar
2 tbsp. salt
1 tbsp. poultry seasoning
1 tsp. white pepper
1 egg
Beat the egg, add oil and beat again. Add remaining ingredients, stir. Baste chicken on BBQ grill or in oven. Leftover sauce can be saved and refrigerated. (Tastes best when used for grill.)
or
CHICKEN BBQ SAUCE
1 c. vinegar
1/2 c. oil
2 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. poultry seasoning
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
Mix all in blender. Brush on chicken as it cooks. Works great too as marinade for a few hours or overnight.

BBQ SAUCE
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. water
1 c. ketchup
2 tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. salt (optional)
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. onion, finely chopped
2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. dry mustard powder
Melt butter. Saute onion until soft. Add remaining 9 ingredients. Simmer for 20 minutes. Makes about 2 cups of BBQ sauce.

You should make your own from scratch, check out foodtv.com for good recipies.
Try marinating the chicken overnight in large ziploc bags. Remember that BBQ sauce has sugar so it will easily burn...make sure you rotate the chicken often or leave basting for last several minutes.

I'm more of a believer in marinating before cooking actually. I marinate my chicken in a mixture of white wine, garlic, rosemary and kosher salt and peppercorns. Or I simplify it by marinating them over night in Italian Dressing. If I baste them at all during the cooking process, then its with white wine mixed with a little melted butter, dijon mustard, and brown sugar.
