When you attend weekly services where you are guilt-ed into make a contribution to the church out of your hard earned paycheck. Perhaps even sacrificing a healthy meal for you children to do it. Do you think twice when you drive past the pastor, deacon, etc. in his Mercedes Benz while driving your 1995 Corolla? Doesn't that make you stop and think?

Of course. It's not right in any sense. The Christian churches in general have a twisted and naive mentality regarding the leadership.

I've been involved with leadership and in both big and small churches for years.

Just don't let that infect your personal walk with God and your spirit.

I'm not sure what church you go to but my Pastor does not drive a luxury car. Actually many of our members have nicer cars than his. My Pastor does not recieve a paycheck from the church. He works for a living just like the rest of us.
The bible says every man should give what he has in his heart to give and with a cheerfull heart. If you don't want to give then don't. That is between you and God not you and the Pastor.
I have been a christian for over 15 years and given my tithes and offerings faithfully and never been without anything for me or my children. On the contrary, god has poured out financial blessings beyond measure! Its a beautiful thing when you put your trust in God and not rely on your self or things of the world.

Isn't it just the televangelists who drive expensive cars? Our pastor and priests live in a small and very old priory. They share an old Chevrolet and have taken a vow of poverty. Our church building is 100 years old this year and we have just recently gotten into the black as a parish because the gothic style of the roof requires constant repairs to be made and we are still waiting to get enough money together to buy new pews and fix the flooring which is the same stuff they put on the deck of ships.

Dear in Christ,

I am a Christian worker from India. Many call me or treat me as a pastor.

We cannot quote from the Law to support tithing.

James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is become guilty of all.

Think of the plight of those who keep just one and discard the rest!

IF A PASTOR INSISTS THAT TITHE BE GIVEN ACCORDING TO LAW, **LET HIM GET CIRCUMCIZED** and start fulfilling the rest of the Law!

Also it is a common knowledge that Law was nailed on Cross - Col 2:14.

Pastors cannot justify collections by citing the examples that Paul taking collections. That was meant for the people suffering in Jerusalem prior to AD 70. (1 Cor 16:2-3)

BUT WE NEED TO SUPPORT THE WIDOWS, POOR AND ORPHANS AMOINGST US.

James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this, **to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction**, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

Jesus Loves You, So do I,
tomsan

If your pastor drives a Mercedez Benz do not go to that church and do NOT give that church your tithe. I haven't found any good churches so I give to World Vision. They are doing God's work.

Our church does not guilt anyone into doing anything. If you read the Bible you would know that it says to tithe. When you tithe, the Lord will make sure you get what you need in life. My family will never come across anything that we can't handle. Its called faith, trust and loyalty.

watching toooo much TV....

tithe is given out of thanksgiving for what a person has...

my tithe goes to the function of the church and the pastors allowance, for missions, etc....

no minister drives a Mercedes.....and if he did perhaps it was an "old one" that a church member gave to the church as a gift for his use....

we are told in the Bible to share and play nice with others......you sound very bitter....

There is a Godly order to it. But He knows that OUR family comes first then the church.
We give to the church for the Ministries within our community, around the world and yes helps out my Pastor.
ALL-in-All we give to God and what he needs it for so as long as we give unto the Lord- It is Blessed by God.
