You don't study enough. If you've been a Christian all your life, there should be no doubt anything about the Word of God.

"what prof do we have that Christianity is true?"
I suppose that I will start at the top. Jesus in John 16 told us about the Holy Spirit. Jesus said that after he left the world, the Holy Spirit would come. Those that trust in God through Jesus Christi and are saved get that Holy Spirit to live with them. For those that do it, they begin living on this world as a habitation of the Holy Spirit. That is proof number one. Only those who trust God through Jesus Christ can have that proof. And I have it.
I suppose that there is other proof, like archaeological evidence. There are scriptures written that explain what Jesus did, what He did while He was here, why He came, why He did what He did, and how He influenced and communicated with those who were there at the time.
One such prophecy, since you asked, was that Jesus would come. There are actually more than one scripture concerning this, but I am avoiding the longest posted answer ever on Yahoo!Answers by telling you in this way.
"What if Paul made Jesus up? "
Well that would mean several things. That would mean that nearly all the other disciples went along with the lie, even to their eventual painful death.
This is what was supposed to happen to some of them:
Philip, a disciple from Bethsaida, in Galilee, suffered martyrdom at Heliopolis, in Phrygia. He was scourged, thrown into prison, and afterwards crucified.
Matthew, the tax-collector from Nazareth who wrote his gospel in Hebrew, was preaching in Ethiopia when he suffered martyrdom by the sword.
James, the brother of Jesus, administered the early church in Jerusalem and was the author of an Epistle by his name. At age 94, he was beat and stoned, and finally had his brains bashed out with a fuller's club.
Matthias was the apostle who filled the vacant place of Judas. He was stoned at Jerusalem and then beheaded.
Andrew was the brother of Peter who preached the gospel throughout Asia. On his arrival at Edessa, he was arrested and crucified on a cross, the two ends of which were fixed transversely in the ground (this is where we get the term, St. Andrew's Cross).
Mark was converted to Christianity by Peter, and then transcribed Peter’s account of Jesus in his Gospel. Mark was dragged to pieces by the people of Alexandria in front of Serapis, their pagan idol.
Peter was condemned to death and crucified at Rome. Jerome holds that Peter was crucified upside down, at his own request, because he said he was unworthy to be crucified in the same manner as his Lord.
And the list goes on. I will leave you with the source below so that you can see where I got it. I could have gotten pretty much the same stuff from Fox's Book of Martyrs.
The thing about all this, if it was a lie, then why at the threat of a certain painful death would they continue. Why not think like a liar and see how far the Gospel might get around less violent people?
That is a proof that falls on deaf ears when told to those who WANT to believe anything else. So how are you going to receive it?

There isn't any proof that Christian theology is true.
That's why it's called faith.
As to why believing in something without evidence is seen as a positive trait by many people, that is beyond me.
