i am going to get a job at petco and as a part time waitress while in school. when i go to college i am hopping to be promoted to manager and still be a waitress and do well in my studies. I get A's in all of my classes and have two AP classes right now and this is the first year they are offering AP classes at my school. my friend is doubting me. saying that "they will not let a kid as a manager" well i will not be a kid and i will work hard but she is being a real butt head. I have not asked my family about it and i hope they will support me. My question is do you think i can do it? or should i juct give up?

Go for it. You can do anything that you put your mind to.

Ditch the friend. She's a loser who is jealous of your drive.

If you can work 2 jobs and still make straight A's in college I say go for it. But be careful. College isn't at all like high school. Consider waiting on getting one of the 2 jobs until you adjust to college life and really see what your work/study schedule is going to be. Again, college is not at all like high school. Don't burn yourself out.

As far as a kid being a manager - again your friend is a pill. Ditch her and try for it. It may take time - but you'll be surprised how you will advance after you prove yourself. A good dependable worker is worth money and advancement.

College work is much harder than high school and there is more of it. . You may find it difficult to get good grades while working so much.

Unless being a manager is a part time job OR, you go to college part-time, I doubt that you will be able to manage such a busy schedule.

Just by reading your question, you seem to be a very bright, and determined young lady!! This might be weird to hear from a stranger, but you've got a great head on your shoulders!!! Please don't ever change- One advice I can give you is, no matter what you set your mind to, don't ever give up! Don't give up on this now... When others are telling you that you can't do something, show them that you can, just they watch and see... and you will accomplish everything you want. Good luck!

Since you seem to lack sufficient English Language skills, I believe you'll have to take remedial English in college, unless colleges have lowered their standards a lot! You especially need to learn how to spell and when to capitalize words! In your short question, you made three spelling errors, although one may have been just a mistyped letter. Try using the "Check Spelling" feature!

Personally, I found college much tougher than high school. It requires much study time.

I admire your willingness to work hard, but I wonder if you're over reaching a little bit.

If you begin to feel anxious, or stressed, you should cut back a bit.

You can accomplish anything you want badly enough. It may take time but don't give up. Also, never let anyone discourage you from working hard for your goals.

You shouldn't let people discourage you. I say go for it. To many times I see people stop themselves based on what others think.
