I've thought about trying to leave a message for myself in a future life. If I can remember one thing from this life to the next, I'll try to remember to look for the message. What kind of message could I leave that would be clear to my future self that it was from my former self?
Once I think about this possibility, it occurs to me that maybe I already left this message in a previous life. I have remembered that I'm supposed to be looking for the message. Where do I look? What means of communication has been available to people in all time periods? Most people couldn't build large structures, so I'm thinking literature is the place to look. What should I look for? Have you found the message I left for myself?
By the way, this is more of a fun puzzle to think about, not a religious inquiry. Let's put belief aside, assume reincarnation exists, and go from there.

You would have to attach it to something a lot of people would be likely to come in contact with - famous building or person, common educational topic, etc. If possible, that thing should represent something about your previous life. Imagine visiting the 9/11 memorial and seeing something that resonated with you in 2050.
I would think some aspect of your self would be transmitted through each successive life. So, think of something very important to who you are. The message would have to resonate specifically with you for you to recognize it in your next life.
Finally, it would have to be simple enough to figure out, yet complex enough that only you could put all the pieces together. It would have to be carefully crafted, indeed.

I believe we all have a "life review" when we get to the other side. I believe we reincarnate many times to learn life lessons. I've already left a message for myself, assuming I'll see it when I look back over my life. The message is-"Don't come back!" I don't want to come back here again. I'm hoping this is the last life for me.

we are already products of our thoughts in previous lives(not just one life). All the instincs, impulses. All the way from a single cell form to human lives. The final leap is into the spiritual with the help of the same intelligence(God) that saw you through all other life forms. You are not alone. Sooner or later that Intelligence will see you home.
Shoot, I do get carried away.

I'll take that cookie, Thor...
"No book had ever really hinted of it, though the deathless Chinamen said that there were double meanings in the Necronomicon of the mad Arab Abdul Alhazred which the initiated might read as they chose, especially the much-discussed couplet:
That is not dead which can eternal lie,
And with strange aeons even death may die."
and as for leaving ourselves a message that can be recognised.... isn't that what 'deja vu' is?.....* smile*.......

Anyway, we have no knowledge of how this reincarnation really works, you could be anything in the next life in this Universe or any other dimension. And after all, what's the use of reincarnation if nobody remembers anything from the previous life(s)?

It would be impossible since you have no idea when where or what you will be reincarnated into. You will have no Idea what to look for...maybe you have already seen this message but it makes no sense to you because you are not you anymore but a future you.......

It would be impossible to tell except for in the highly improbable scenario in which you even have subconscious memory of former existence (the spirit is reincarnated, not the brain).

Oh, well uh hi Dr. Bloo. Didn't mean to bother you again. But you seem to be ignoring my calls. I just thought i'd leave you a message to remind you to GIVE ME MY FREAKING SNAPPLE back so I can stop calling so much. I miss its delicious flavor. Love, Ally.

You will not be brought back to life for 1000 years after Jesus Christ has taken his role back on earth. By that time it will be very hard to find any message you had left behind.

you might try a spiritual person, not a leader but one who channels spirits. like perhaps fortune tellers, or Tarra card readers. as for looking on your own, you may never know what you are looking at if you find it, because you are probably a different person then what you were before.
