Christianity is one of the world's major religions, and it has several denominations within it (Presbyterian, Catholic, Methodist, etc). An individual Christian may or may not be affiliated with a particular denomination. Christian Science is an offshoot of the christian religion, and it founder was Mary Baker Eddy. Scientology is a completely different religion that is not affiliated with Christianity or with Christian Science. Wikipedia has some good articles on these religious traditions.

Each form of Christianity (Baptist, Catholic, Methodist, etc.) is a denomination. A non-denominational minister does services that are Christian, but not any specific flavor of Christianity, as it were. For instance, if a Methodist and a Lutherin wanted to get married and wanted it to be a religious service, but couldn't agree on whose version of Christianity to use, they might contact a non-denominational minister to perform the service.
It is also possible to be a non-denominational Christian. That simply means someone who believes in the divinity of Jesus Christ, but does not belong to a specific denomination.
No, Christian Scientists and Scientologists are very different. Christian Scientists believe in the power of prayer and faith to cure all illnesses and wounds without medical intervention, while Scientologists believe in...well...it's rather confusing to me, but I do know it involves aliens, not Jesus Christ or God.

It is possible to be a non-denominational Christian, but most Christians associate themselves with a denomination.
Yes, Christian Scientists are Scientologists or better yet are members of the Church of Scientology founded by the science fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard.
Take care,

Christian Scientists and Scientologists are totally different.
Some Christians ARE non-denominational but that doesn't mean we all are. For instance, Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, Nazarene, Assembly of God, and Lutherans are all denominations of the Christian Church. They all have in common, the belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He was born of the Virgin Mary, He lived a sinless life, He was crucified, and that He rose again on the 3rd day to provide eternal life for those who accept His gift of salvation.
What these denominations differ in is their traditions and ways of practicing their faith. They are still all Christians.
Those who do not belong to one of those denominations or any other church that identifies itself by a denominational name, are called non-denominational Christians. There are many evangelical churches out there which preach the gospel of Jesus Christ but are not governed by any denominational church system. These churches often (but not always) tend to lean toward the Baptist influence of worship and teachings, but do not claim any association with any particular denomination. Many of these churches are Pentecostal in nature and lean more toward the Assembly of God style of worship and teaching. Many are just out there preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ in a straightforward way, directly from the Bible without any denominational influence whatsoever.
I have been a Baptist, a Nazarene and have attended an Assembly of God church. I now attend a non-denominational church. Whatever church I have attended, been a member of or associated with, I have called myself a Christian and will continue to do so. Hope this helps.

If I was a Christian Scientist I'd be offended at being compared to a Scientologist.
Google "operation clambake" for information about Scientologists.
And, Christians IMO are not nondenominational, since they do have a faith.
To me nondenominational means a wide variety of faiths, i.e. "Nondenominational Officiant", they can do any faith for a ceremony.

No. Non-denominational means no specific affiliation.
Christian comprises a variety of different denominations - Catholic, Baptist, Lutheran, Anglican, etc.
The Church of Christ, Scientist is sometimes confused with the Church of Scientology, an unrelated organization founded about 75 years after Christian Science. It is also sometimes confused with Religious Science, a recent denomination in line with the New Thought tradition.

on your important question: Denomination means a sub-group interior a faith. in actuality Christian denominations variety in average techniques (like a thank you to habit a service or interpretation of particular verses) besides the shown fact that they stay genuine to the backside information of the Bible and the Gospel of Jesus: a million. Jesus is GOD and is an area of the Holy Trinity (Father, Son & Holy Spirit). 2. Jesus got here to Earth and died for our sins (completely guy and completely God). 3. Jesus rose lower back (needed) 4. If we have faith in Jesus we can't go through the "2d dying" that's Hell. i'm going to have missed one or 2. the rest is a cult. For the others: Christian Scientists are a cult that concentration on the healings of Jesus yet variety to the Bible on many fronts (see source style a million). So i does no longer even call them Christians. Scientologists are completely bizarre. that is a faith began by using technology fiction author (that on my own ought to start alarm bells) L. Ron Hubbard. It believes (between different issues) that some extraterrestrial beings got here to earth and slaughters another extraterrestrial beings in some volcanos and then some bizarre stuff became released into each and every human...or something...that is in basic terms bizarre (see source 2 for greater)

Xian is the umbrella term for various paths such as baptist, methodist, etc. Just as Pagan is the umbrella term for witches, wiccans, shamans, druids, etc.
I do believe xian scientists and scientologists are the same, but I don't say that with any solid knowledge or reference to share. You can look up the terms and see if they are synonymous.
Why is this under Weddings and not Religion & Spirituality?
