Does anyone have one of those? You know someone that you really would have liked to see where it would have gone but never got the chance. If so, what is your story?

I met a man from Syria while I was in college. It was love at first sight for both of us. But he was on a temporary visa and I was something like 18 at the time - and involved with college and studies - no time for a BF.
We corresponded for 6 years - sometimes his letters came to me in pieces or with marker on them blocking words out of the text; until one day the letters just stopped coming and my letters to him were consistently returned.
Of course, Syria and the US are not the best of friends - then - and now.
I don't know what happened to him - but I still carry his picture in my wallet. I don't have a photo of my husband - but I have a picture of him.
that was 30 years ago.
