He had two war supporter decals on his vehicle. One for "I love Bush" and the other "I support the troops". All I did was ask him to send his two sons ( 19 and 23 years old ) to the war to make Bush proud. The father looked at me like he had been drinking lemon juice. Why did he look at me like that? I thought he supported the war? Why the hard looks? Why did his adult sons look at me like they have been eating lemons? If they support the war why are they letting others fight their fight?

First of all thinking that a parent can "send" grown men to the military is hilarious.
Second, I'm sure you are aware of this but the draft is over. Each person is free to decide if they want to join or if they don't. You can support the military without actually being in the military. It's been that was since time began.

I've always wondered, Erudite how an ex-military man became so against the military. I've never heard you say one thing good about it. I can understand having criticism and even being sorry you were there but sometimes you take it too far.
As far as the lemon looks? hmmm, don't know. I feel everyone gives in one way or the other. Just because you don't like the way they give, doesn't make it less important to the person giving.

1) If his sons were that old, why didn't you ask his sons that question? This is a volunteer Military, not a "my parents forced me to join" military, so your question is just stupid. Do his son's support the troops?

2) So if you don't join the military, that means you don't support the troops? I guess that makes the Anti-War party line a lie.... I guess they don't support the war or the troops.

3) I joined in the Army in 95 and am still in today. In the 90's, we had recruiting shortfalls and retention problems, compared to to today when we only have occasional recruiting shortfalls. The President at that time was deploying more troops then any president since Vietnam. Since the president was a Democrat, where were all these Democrats joining that today claim today that supporters of the President must serve? If they were doing that, we would not have had those recruiting problems in the 90s. Why were Democrats doing the same thing that they claim Republicans are doing today?

Are you a recruiter? Maybe they feel they support the troops but are unable to do what the troops are doing. I have been to Iraq and am still in the military and I'm proud to still be in Heck every time I go home on leave I either convince someone to join or gt someone thinking about it, but not everyone is cut out for the military life.

Like it or not, it is an all volunteer military. No one has to join. I guess from your logic you should ask why Chelsea Clinton did not join, or Hillary; she voted for military action. How about Kerry's sons and daughters? He voted for the war before he voted against it.
If you want to be taken seriously then you have to spread your brand of logic all the way around or you are a hypocrite.

If you think that joining the army is the best way you support the war, then why haven't you joined? Then you don't support the war? Then why are you telling other people how to?

Wow, Erudite, you haven't told this lie in a couple of months.

What, is life slowing down for you up there, or did you just take that long to get out of the hospital after the beating they laid on your ignorant ***?

Watch it before you give me a thumbs down like I'm sure some of you cretins will.

If it makes a difference, I do not support the war, but I have enlisted in the Air Force (ship out 3 months) which is more than some can say.

Taking your argument to it's logical and simple conclusion.... If somebody does not join our all volunteer military...they should NOT support our troop's efforts and hope for their success?.. Maybe the bumper sticker guy is offended by dumbass questions...

You asked this same question several months ago.

I can only guess it is something you made up to support your line of rhetoric.
