Hi Answerers,

I had a cortizone injection in my elbow yesterday, and today it's screming in pain. Doc gave me NSAIDS for swelling.
I have to move this weekend.

Is this soreness going to end soon~!? It's a killer for pain!

you should not be using your elbow at this time. It's normal to have severe pain after a injection like this. Place an ice pack on the area for fifteen minutes, several times a day. It normally takes one week before the pain ends after the injection. After that point you will feel much better.

what you are going through is quite normal. It's difficult the first time you have these sorts of injections. You expect the pain to disappear magically and it doesn't. It takes time for the medicine to work and break up the inflammation.

If this is the first steroid injection you have ever received, go back to your doctor with these symptoms. You may be allergic.

Smaller joint injections are harder and , he may have hit a nerve. If the anti-inflammatory drugs don't help.. you should really let their office know soon.
