Technically, I'm agnostic, but close enough right?
I celebrate Christmas for the spirit that goes into it. Everyone is so happy and it's a lot of fun. Of course, I'll celebrate just about anything that involves shiny stuff and/or food.

I am an atheist and I celebrate Christmas. Christmas is NOT the birthday of Jesus. It is a day that was selected to symbolize Jesus birthday. But December 25 was also a pagan holiday. Atheists don't believe in god, so holidays hold no holy meanings. This is a day that we get off from work and a day that is traditionally a day to gather together with family and have a good time. So that's what I do. The same goes with Easter, only we don't do that much with Easter since my son has grown up. We have no reason to not celebrate any holiday we wish, because it's not about gods or religion, it's about having a good time. We answer to no gods.

I've actually never celebrated Christmas. The most I've done over Christmas Holiday was go to midnight mass with my boyfriend's mother, because it meant everything and more to her - so even though I'm an atheist, I went to make her feel good.
I don't believe I have any right to celebrate any kind of holiday aimed towards a specific religion, simply because I don't believe in that religion, why should I "reap the goods" of it, in a sense?

Yes.
I get a tree (Goth pagan tradition)
Give presents (Roman pagan tradition)
Have a big feast with family (multiple culture pagan tradition)
Put up lights (Hindu tradition)
I do not go to church or stick a plastic baby Jesus on my lawn.
Christianity just usurped a whole load of pagan mid-winter celebrations. Lots of people understod this iver the ages which is why Christians have banned Christmas a few times.

I obviously don't celebrate Christmas as a religious holiday. But I have a 9-year-old boy and we do the tree and presents thing. I don't have any qualms about it since it really isn't a Christian holiday anyway. It's just a series of pagan Solstice rituals with the Christ myth superimposed over it.

I celebrate Christmas as I think its fair that Atheists get to steal from Christians if Christians can steal from Pagans.
Good evening Mr Icarus62, I'm from England too.

I celebrate Christmas. But not for the same reasons as the Christians.
I think of Christmas as a day to give things to people. Or whatever.
But yes most people celebrate Christmas.

Since Christmas is yet another example of Christians hijacking an older tradition for their own ends, why shouldn't anyone take advantage of the days off work and the opportunity to gather with friends and family to party?

I do. Most of those holidays were pagan first and surround the winter solstice. Also in old times they had nothing to do in the winter month so they had holidays. Jesus was born nowhere near christmas anyways. Christmas is still a nice holiday
