I am purchasing one way airline tickets for my sister who will be in ORD next month. (its going to be one month away from now) I checked on all of the airlines websites (travelocity,priceline,expedia...etc) and their prices were about $80s one way this Monday but when I checked their prices today are $280 one way. WHY is that? Their prices are $280 or more till the end of this year. I am so confused and frustrated. Please help. Thanks

When you fill out the form to decide wheich days to fly out on, try the middle of the week (tues.-thurs.). Also look into multiple stops. This sometimes makes the prices go down. I'm not sure how the price went up so dramatically, especially for a one way ticket, but I do know that they fluctuate and it can be different every day. So keep checking on them. You can also try the actual websites for the airlines so you don't run the risk of paying extra third party fees. Good luck!

There are a variety of variables, but mostly it's supply and demand of customers & the popularity of the destination for that time of year.
