A couple who are friends of mine are a very nice, older pair of golfers who aren't particularly skilled. They hardly ever break 100, but one of them has hit a hole in one, and the other has dunked a fairway shot on a par 4 for an eagle. If you're better you give yourself a chance at an ace more often than most, but anyone can do it once in their life.
Blind people learn to play golf a lot like the rest of us. They learn their swing through repetition and muscle memory. On the course, they have a partner lining them up and positioning them in front of the ball, then they swing away. If they have a decent swing, and their partner lines them up and judges the yardage well enough, they have about as a good a chance at hitting an ace as anyone else.

Yes its possible. The chances for an amateur golfer to get a hole in one is 1 in 12,750. So....these chances increase enormously for a blind golfer. And for your second question..... most humans CAN sompensate so well for vision loss with other senses. Good question.

Recording a hole in one is 95% luck and 5% skill. If I were to give you 5000 golf balls, and you stood at the same hole all day and just kept firing away at the hole, sooner or later one is going to fall in.
Also the fact that she it blind really doesnt make a difference either. A golf swing should to consistant every time you swing. Therefor if you are going through the same motions everytime you will be able to hit the ball just fine. I know this is a bit of a stretch, but it is kind of like shooting a free throw in basketball. You shot should be the same everytime, therefore you should be able to make a free throw with your eyes closed.

There is no rule that says golf has to be witnessed. If you got a hole in one and you were the only one there it is still a hole in one, but it won't be as special if no one saw it.

Well as in anytrhing, there is always that thing called luck. I witnessed a hole in one a few years ago. The person that got it, he had one of the worst slices I've ever seen. So there is always the little bit of luck involved.

I did. If you hit it just right you probably would. She plays 3 times a week and for the last 15 years, so she's probably pretty good and knows how to hit the ball, and I'm sure her husband, who was with her, taught her well.
