why do you think religion was invented in the first place? why does the Christan religion teach that humans are the only intelligent life in the universe? its so they DON'T have to feel small. so they tell each other that they are the center of the universe...

Isn't it incredible how small we are but people think we are so"big"?
We are on one small planet, in one small galaxy. Who knows what's beyond the galaxy and then beyond that and beyond that. Who knows how many galaxies there are - there could be an infinite number of planets with some sort of life that human kind has not yet found - and maybe never will.
Just compare the span of human life on this planet to the timespan of any other life before. Look at the Dinosaurs - they've been here longer than we have. Doesn't that make us small and insignificant?

The Whole is never greater than the sum of "all" the parts. The space in your mind is as infinite as the space of the universe. To many thoughts seem to fill all the space. Thoughts are what make us feel small and insignificant yet they only are passing through the space of our mind.

Space has not be proven to be infinite.

There are over a billion galaxies

Each star could not be another galaxy. Galaxies are Galaxies.

We are beyond microscopic.

In a cosmic sense we are insignificant, but in terms of the Earth we are all that matters.

Doesn't say much for the God of Abraham, not the God of the Universe, does it?

I actually love the thought of that. My life is so important to me...but I am a speck on a speck that is on a speck (and so on). It makes me feel that there is so much out there that we have no concept of and hopefully someday will understand more and more. I'm sure 99.9% of the amazing discoveries will not occur in my lifetime, but it still enthralls me. I find the whole idea to be uplifting.

actually it makes me feel very good.

I have been on this planet for over 30 years and i can tell you that each year older I get...the more I think the human race needs to be put down.

The very vastness that makes us insignificant makes me comfortable since it would mean the universe could have a true+noble purpose and be a worthwhile place and we are just the exception to the cosmic rule

I don't feel insignificant, because I know that in this huge world, with every planet, and star, whirling above me, I am loved by a Mighty and Victorious God~ That is enough to make me feel very blessed and honered to be living and breathing~

Yes.

Don't let it bother you.

It is an awesome thing. But also liberating.

And how wonderful it is to know that out of all the planets /solar systems /galaxies / possible civilizations, that the Lord and his love have no trouble finding you, no trouble hearing your prayers. :-)

Be well.

The earth is but a speck of dust in the universe. Not everyone can realize the size of the universe.

It doesn't "bother" me at all. It just makes me wonder what else could be out there that man hasn't discovered yet...you know? It's possible...why not? :)
