I dont want a 1000 pages book but one that explains it really good, and its entertaining, beacuase my brother gets distracted very easily, and i need to keep him on track(dont wanna a kindergarten book either), i would really appreciate any suggestion you might have, thank you!!

Try "The Everything American History Book." It gives an overview of U.S. History with interesting facts and pictures. It's described as "family friendly."

Go to the nearest American library wherever you are and you should be able to find there a variety of books on American History to satisfy different needs from elementary to advanced levels!

If you're looking for one on American history Howard Zinn's "A People's History of the United States" is excellent for those maybe 15 and up.

well, you can buy the "dear america" books. they only focus on one point in time, but they show it from one person's view. they are very amazing and entertaining books!
