For Victoria's Secret, they don't start out at minimum wage. The starting pay would be $6.50-$7.00/hr. And hey, she'll be getting employee discounts, too! I'm sure you'll like that!

It's usually around $7/hr. I want to tell you what it's like to work there first, though.

Your wife will have to do bra fittings. They are annoying and require close personal contact with customers. If your wife isn't comfortable with that type of thing, she shouldn't consider the job. Many women also want the employees to come in the dressing room with them to make sure the bra fits correctly. She WILL see older women's boobs.

The girls who work there are very appearance-oriented for the most part. If your wife likes makeup and girly things, then she will be fine, but we had emloyees that hated that sort of thing and they floundered at their job. Don't expect intelligent management--it's lacking a bit. Pay raises are RARE and take a year or more to achieve.

It's an ok part time job if that's what she's looking for, but keep in mind they push sales like you wouldn't believe and it can be a suffocating atmosophere after a while.

It's not like I hated the job, I just want you to know what the downsides are because you hardly ever hear about those before you take a position. Good luck to you and your wife!

In Louisiana, minimum wage is the federal minimum of $5.85 per hour. Retail jobs typically start at somewhere near minimum, depending on how available workers are in your area.
