Do it yourself, eh? Hmmm, take some pliers, pull out your teeth, insert screws into your jaw, and put your teeth back in. Seems kind of difficult, eh? Why don't you go to the local State University and get cheap braces? U of M offers braces for $1000 when normally you'd pay $5,000. :) Just a suggestion. If the thought of a student touching your teeth scares you, relax, the instructor guides them through it.

No. They are growing out of your jaw bones in unattractive ways.

Most of that is genetic (like having your dad's genes for big teeth in a jaw that came from your mom's genes for a small jawbone). There were a lot less cases of people needing teeth straightened hundreds of years ago when people married the person next door in their tiny isolated village. (Not that anyone knew how to straighten them in those days anyway).

Braces is the only way to go and the faster you get them on the better teeth you will have much sooner.

No, but you could always get those clear ones.
