If your 6 week old kitten has fleas. Don't do anything without consulting a vet. Believe me, they know more than the store clerks at PetsMart! Call your local vet saying your 6 week old kitten has fleas. They will schedule an appointment for the kitten to come in. I'm sure they will either give your kitten a flea shot ( if its not too young) or tell you what to do!
Always go to the vet if your pet needs something!

Definately talk to your vet about a product. Most over the counter ones are too harsh for kitties that young.
The best solution I've found for very young ones has been to get one of those fine toothed flee combs and comb them regularly (at least a couple times per day). Eventually, you'll win against the little blood suckers.
We rescued a kitten that was about that old and that's the course we took. It took about a week or so to get them all. As they were removed with the comb, we had to keep at it to get the ones who might have hatched but by combing regularly we got them before they could lay eggs again so eventually they cleared up.
Also make sure that you vaccuum and treat your environment (talk to the Vet before using chemical treatments), too.
In addition to removing the flees, the regular combing is a very good way to help socialize the kitten to being handled and helps build the person/cat bond.
Best of luck!

Invest in a flea comb & ask your pet for advantage. Also remember that a pet that has had fleas will likely need wormed for tapeworms, your vet can provide the right dosage.
Also as you comb off fleas, place your finger over the edge of the comb as you remove it from the hair to help trap them against the comb and immediantly drop them into a bowl or glass of rubbing alcohol to kill them.
You will also need to treat your house and your yard (if they came from your yard) even if kitty never goes out. Fleas can be carried inside on your pant legs or other animals that come and go in and out. Even passing dogs can have fleas that hop off into your yard so keep a check on it even if it's not a problem now.

Some kittens have bad reactions to flea products at that age, so unless they're covered, get a flea comb and use that for now.

Talk to a vet - they will have the best answer for you.
Don't use over the counter flea medicine or collars - the collars don't work (or work only around the neck), and many cats and kittens are incredibly allergic and can die from over the counter stuff.
