What did the Bible say? 'By their fruits ye shall know them?' To me that means you'll know if their beliefs are good if they live 'em. I have seen so many answers concerning Mormons say, "Yeah, the LDS people individually are really great! I love them! But I totally hate their beliefs." How can this be? We ARE our beliefs. If we are so wonderful (as many of you say), it is because of our religion and what we have been taught. How can corrupt leaders lead a people into doing good works continually? They must be either of God or the devil. And the devil does not do good works. This has always puzzled me.

Well the Doctrines in the LDS church are the fullness of the gospel because we are lead by Jesus Christ through revelation, not because the members are so nice.

It is true (generally) that the Mormons who follow the church are good people and you can see that the church might be true because of so many good people. However I see so many good people in other religions. So many who are Christ-like who don't believe in Christ that I caution this line of argument the our church is true.

The Holy Spirit will testify that the LDSchurch is true.

I do concede that it is illogical for people to beat down our church and say it is horrible when the overwhelming evidence is to the contrary -- so I see your point.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true because of Jesus Christ and none else!

As they are just people, they can relate to the people, but not the religion.

The people that chose to hate our beliefs have no understanding of our gospel principles and if they do, they're missing out a lot of basic Mormon doctrine.

The most important doctrine is that our church is guided by modern day revelation from God through the Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley.

When this isn't possible (modern day revelation) in people's minds, all else is considered null.

Mormons accept Jesus Christ as their Lord, and Savior. This is what it meant to be a christian for Centuries. The Christian Apologists began to criticize Mormons because they did not agree with some of the ideas the Mormons had. Then they added to the definition of what makes a Christian because they were not winning their battles.

Chinese has a great saying:

Rumor cease before the wise. There will always be intelligent people out there that see the good in us.

The Savior said:
18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

(New Testament | John 15:18 - 19)

Also he said:

26 But ye( non believers) believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
(New Testament | John 10:26 - 27)

I've met great people out of a lot of different religions. That is the great thing about religions, they are designed to improve people. I know that most Christians who disagree strongly with our doctrine also believe that we are the fulfilment of the scriptures that talk about the very elect being deceived by us. I've learned, especially on this forum, to just ignore these.

as hard as this is, you need to stop worrying about what other "Christians" think about you and your faith.

they will do anything they can to destroy the spirit of anyone who worships in any way they "think" is wrong. many of them prove that they have nothing but hate and disdain for anyone who is not just like them in every way. many of them say terrible, awful things just to hurt and judge.

little do they know that, according to their faith, they will be judged by how they judged others.

if you are happy as a Mormon, then please live your life and be blessed. don't let a bunch of closed minded elitists treat you like poop.

It's always puzzled me too. I don't have an answer to your question, although I do like yarn's answer.

I consider the doctrine of the church complete and utter lunacy, and a danger to civilization.

By your reasoning, the mormons are a cult of lunatics bent on destroying the free world and impose their collective economic hardships on those who exercise their 'free agency'.

Get over yourself. You're not that important and neither is your church. It IS, though very, very wrong. Belief in a charlatan and a book of mythology does not make it either right or "nice".

The devil can appear as an angel of light to decieve. Sounds like Moroni to me. Satan will tell 1000 truths to get someone to believe one lie.

Yes it's a very good question. I'd as an atheist, point out that "good fruit" doesn't depend on a made up deity and that the origins of your religion are highly suspect, and that your temples and rituals are based on Freemasonry.
