I know that in magic, if you cast a bad spell, bad things happen to you. What if you cast a curse on a murderer though? Would bad things still happen to you?

I DO NOT watch too much Charmed and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And just because I dont ask questions about the religion doesnt mean I dont follow it.

yes. remember "an it harm none do as thou wilt" this means that no matter who you do the harm on you will have it come back on you three fold. have faith that the person that does harm will have his when Karma gets at him. but otherwise this vicious cycle would be created.

Blessed Be

Edit: I would have to agree with Nightwind here. all your questions seem to say that you have watched a few too many Charmed and Buffy the Vampire Slayer. It doesnt sound like your following the true religion of it but more trying to find easy outs for situations and to play with elements that only one thats experienced should use.

Edit: Also remember Wicca's, or atleast as I understand it, dont believe in a pure evil they believe that there is good and evil in everyone and everything. therefore by cursing a murderer for killing you are also possibly cursing someone who has donated thousands to orphans or someone who has done any number of other good things in life. Some murderers have good intentions in it but they still have to face the consequences of killing someone. Leave the punishment and judging up to the powers(whichever god/goddess you follow most) it is not your place.

The universe is not a divine Santa Claus, dishing out rewards to the naughty and the nice. Karma is the consequences of your actions. There are frequently negative consequences to actions even if they have good intentions, and if you are not willing to face those consequences, you shouldn't be making the action to begin with. The universe does not say "well, he was well intentioned, so we'll just suspend the laws of cause and effect for him."

And if you don't understand the possible consequences of your considered actions (in this case, cursing), then you clearly are not ready to do such a thing.

Seriously, I'm sure you're well intentioned, but through the series of questions I've seen from you over the last few days, you seem to be following a fantasy more than a religion. You keep saying you're Wiccan, but you never mention religious things. You ask about demons and curses and seances "complex magic" and all the things that look really dramatic on TV. That's not what we're about.

Three Folds Law

You must always accept that there are consequences for your actions. Even actions taken with the intent of stopping further harm--such as binding or cursing someone evil--will return the energy.

What you must ask yourself is "Is it worth it?" If I knew, without a shadow of a doubt, that a person was a murderer and would do it again, then I might be willing to accept those consequences. Though I probably would not perform a curse. A binding, followed by a spell designed to allow mortal justice the chance to work--in other words, he'd be arrested, evaluated, and sent to a maximum security prison for the rest of his life. And be prevented from working any more harm in the meantime.

In my belief system, casting cursed is never an option. The universal spirit will deal with those things as it sees fit in this life or the next. We are only human and only see things from out limited points of view. Protection spells, return to sender, understanding your own energy vs other's, in some extreme cases binding are all you need; allow the energy field to aid your improvement not hinder someone else's life lessons.

There are some good answers here for you to truly think about- seek with in yourself your intentions and motivations.

Blessed be.

it is frequently a Wiccan element - nevertheless, just to make issues confusing, no longer all Wiccans stick to it, and a few non-Wiccans do. One a elementary point, it incredibly is a particularly karma/Golden Rule form of element - what is going around, comes around. The "3-fold" area receives debated *all* the time. some individuals evaluate it to be a literal multipler (ie, punch somebody as quickly as, get punched thrice in reaction), different individuals see it as extra metaphoric, and nonetheless others view it as metaphysical (you would be wanting something undesirable take place bodily, spiritually, and emotionally). There does not seem a stable consensus as to which one's genuine.

Who are you to judge the murderer? For all you know, they killed the one who murdered them in a past life...so now things are even.

If you can't foresee these possibilities, it would be best never to curse or harm another in any situation - for you may likely be doing the wrong thing and just harm yourself (karma/3-fold law - the harm you cause another returning to you).

If you cast a curse then you may become cursed. If you do it the right way then you'll be okay. That way is through God. Say in the name of Jesus Christ you will pay for what you have done if not in this life then in the next one. Be Careful on what you do and how you do it.

Yes. Bad is bad no matter what. At least from what I understand. You have to trust the universe to punish said murderer or at the very least society. I don't have the three fold law in my trad, BUT most faith have the whole do unto thing. It's just called different names.

Some religions and magick believe in the law of three. In voodoo and hoodoo, we don't believe in that. That isn't to say you shouldn't be responsible in your practice, but the law of 3 and karma doesn't apply in hoodoo as it does elsewhere.
