True V-Code Cars came with 440 6-pack engines with 390HP using gross method.
For a 70 challenger R/T 6-pack car VIN would start out JS23V0####### (Hard-Top)
or
JS27V0####### (Convertible)
For collectors, The JS will be worth more than just having a V-Code car. JS with V is next best thing having an R code.
A Hemi Challenger R/T. Which would be JS23R0####### Hard top or the ultimate JS27R0#######, a Hemi Challenger R/T Convertible (Ultra-Extremely rare) worth in the millions these days.

He's kinda right - here's the whole story.
In a 1970 Mopar, the VIN consists of:
Model - J for Challenger, I think?
Trim level - S for Special, which means the R/T
Bodystyle - 23 for hardtop
Engine - V for 440 Six Pack ("N" 383 was standard)
There's also codes for the plant, year, and sequence, but that's not important here.

Superscottie's answer sounds good to me! True V-Code= true to the VIN number as certain digits in the VIN reflect the type of engine the car originally had and so forth--makes sense.
Either way, it looks like a good find. Those old muscle cars are nice!

Just guessing, but it might just mean that its an original, confirmed VIN(vehicle identification number), meaning its a true original 440 R/T, not a base Challenger modified to look like an R/T with an engine transplant.

A buddy of mine had a sixty eight roadrunner and was once walking Mickey Thompson Sportsman Tires, Rear: 31-sixteen.50-15LT, Front: 26-eight.50-15LT and he appeared to have well hookup. But of direction they're 2 differnt autos the roadrunner is allot heavyer then a barracuda. He additionally has a sixty eight hemi cuda im no longer certain what hes gona run on them tho.
