Don't know which I would prefer. I didn't have a choice - it was cesarean or maybe lose my baby boy. I had high blood pressure, diabetes, and inducement wasn't working due to the magnesium for my high blood pressure. Having said that, for me the c-section recovery was a piece of cake. I didn't have any problems other than stairs for about a week, then no trouble and not very much pain either. I do have to say though, I was about ready to scream and start ripping body parts off of doctors etc. (not literally, but boy it was a nice thought while that drugged up!) by the time they handed me my baby boy. It *does* take a lot longer to get stitched up than you'd like, before you can hold your baby. I would like to try my next (hopefully) baby naturally if possible, but if not, I won't sweat it. They are a blessing no matter how they come! (:

at the end of the day, its your decision. I honestly can't believe your partner has said he would rather you have a section to keep you "neat" down there - ridiculous! Quite a lot of my friends have HAD to have c sections, and they truly wish they hadn't. Fair enough the scar once healed is barely visible, but the pain can be horrendous, midwives have to come round more often (when you just want to be getting on with it yourself), you are not allowed to drive, hoover or do anything physically demanding for up to 6 weeks after the birth and most importantly, a c section is MAJOR surgery so should not be taken lightly. If your partner is willing to take time out of work to help you with all that having a baby entails, getting up in the night, bending down to change nappies, taking over the night feeds - because you will need to rest to ensure good healing, then fair enough. Giving birth naturally - which i have done twice - in my opinion is one of the most painful but satisfying things i have ever done, and i would not change a single thing. Baby one - i had an epidural & baby two - i had nothing! i felt like superwoman! Do what you feel is right and not because the person you are with doesn't want to "chuck his wellies down an alleyway"! Its just not like that, the vagina is a wonderful thing and goes back to normal within weeks. Anyway, good luck with everything and i hope your baby is born very healthy and both of you are very happy. x

I had both of my kids natural. One was induced the other wasn't. My sister had a cesarean because her son was breech. I can understand that some people would think it was nice to basically make an appointment to go in and have the baby, it was kind of like that being induced. But I can't really understand why someone would prefer to have surgery if they could avoid it.

I've never actually had a C-section, but after 4 natural births I don't know why people opt for a c-section anyway. I've just read that the recovery time is longer, the chances of complications and death to the mother is a lot higher and you have to wait until your sewn back up before you can start to bond with your baby. Plus the scar!! I wouldn't do it unless I absolutely HAD to. Those of you who choose it are pretty brave!!

I preferred Natural!
I had my first child naturally. Induced. Was in labour ward for more than 12 hours. Did not take any injection. Survived thru chewing on ice-cubes!
It was painful but it's worth the pain when you see your little one out safe and sound.
Also, I recovered better by natural birth.
Giving birth naturally is an experience which I feel that women, who wants to give birth, should give a try if possible. :)

Well I had a choice either I was going to die or my son because he was in distress so I told them to do what they had to. So I had a c-section it didn't last that long but I later found out that the doctor stitched me up too tight and caused several scarred tissue. For the fact that I had my children so close together I had no choice but to have her the same way. But hopefully one day I can experience it vaginally sometime soon. So I would say I go vaginal because the only plus side to a c-section is the constant medication

I would say naturally. My opinion Women's bodies are made to have children & in most cases they are perfectly able to give birth. I had all of mine naturally with a midwife.
I had a much faster recovery than others who had c-sections.
My sister had a c-section with her first, & has choosen to have the other 4 naturally, judging from that I'd say natural is the way to go. Less chance of infection & complications & you don't have to worry about your other children accidentaly hurting you when trying to give you hugs & kisses or just trying to snuggle up with you. You will still be able to pick them up (I believe there is a weight limit with c-section.)

I prefer natural and had both of mine without drugs. The pain is more intense but I hate the idea of getting cut open. If I had to I would have a c-section but the doctor would have to give me good reasons for it. My friend had her twins c-section and said it was no big deal but even she preferred having a natural birth. There are reasons to do it but if you don't have to I would not suggest it.

i had my 3 kids naturally, i did ask for a c-section the first time i was pregnant but that was just due to the fear of the pain that comes with delivery, i never got the c-section and i have to say that i was so glad i didnt...yes it was painful, but the recocery time afterwards was so much shorter compared to my friend who had to have a section.
i think everyone has worries about the pain childbirth brings no matter how many kids you have but either way a healthy baby at the end of it is all that matters.

I would prefer natural but, I had to have a emergency c section and will probably have to have another when I have another child.
That' s right c sections def. take longer to heal. I had complications so mine took even longer. With a c section you run the risk of getting very sick or a really bad infection..
