It would depend on their religious beliefs. If theirs was extremely similar to ours it would definitely lend a lot of weight to the plausibility of ours, for example if they start talking about how Odin will take them to Valhalla, I'd expect a renewed interest in Norse mythology.

It wouldn't really effect it, because the bible has never stated that we are the only planet that contains life.
Traveling space seems as hard to us as it must have been when the Romans looked out across the Atlantic Ocean. They believed the world was flat, and couldn't even imagine that there could be other civilizations just on the other side of the "pond," yet there were. So, why not consider the possibility of life on other planets. It's entirely possible.

In answer to the first part of your question, absolutely. The discovery of intelligent life from another planet would affect my belief in God. I would believe all the more strongly in His divine power and authority to create more than one kind of life in this universe.
Would it cause me to question my beliefs in God?
Well, let me ask YOU something - if you discovered that you had a long lost twin brother that was separated at birth and you are just now finding out about him, would that question your belief in your parents?
How does one equate to the other?
And, by the way, there ARE other intelligent beings in the universe - they are called angels, et al.

More important than even considering the possibility of intelligent life on other planets is considering just how intelligent WE are. Are we living up to our full potential? Is aggression and war and murder and exploitation the best we can do? Why are we not looking to our BEST examples for models of how to be? Rather than the average, mediocre, money-grubbing, lustful, seflish models we obviously want to be. Why don't we want to be like our saints and heroes? Compassionate and loving? Peaceful and kind?

It wouldn't matter to me at all. I feel confident that there must be other life out there.
If there is a God, it is also likely that He would be the same god over all the Universe.

l would be amazed if there weren't life on another planet. So no, it won't make any difference to my realisation that there is a God. In fact, reading about astronomy has only strengthened my faith.

It is entirely possible that there may be such beings, somewhere. However, I don't see how that should affect my personal relationship with the Creator. After all, they are created being, just like us. Since God is the Creator, they can someday know Him like Christians do, if they don't, already.
