You can read the whole new testament in one day, without God speaking to you.
OR
You can read just a few words and know that this is what God is saying to you.
There are many people who read the bible including atheists, and cant hear God.
what I'm saying is that you dont need a reading schedule or force yourself to read just for conscience sake. God Himself will call you to read when He has something to tell you.
I have nothing to gain by boasting to you, whom I do not even know, BUT whenever I read the bible I always ask God to speak to me and most of the time He does. Then when He speaks to me, I just stand there in awe and cannot do anything else but worship Him.

There isn't any specific guide to how much or how little you should read your Bible.
Whenever I have free time to myself, its all I really want to do. I can't wait to get back
to it, I love it.
Alot of people don't read it that much because its hard for them to understand.
Those folks should get some help from a
Church that has teachers onboard who are literate in the Bible and all three Biblical languages. A Church that teaches from the manuscripts so that the deeper thought is not missed because thats the part that is so exciting and makes you want to get back to it asap.
Unfortunately, I have only found one church in over 35 years who fits that description.
ONE CHURCH. Unbelievable.
They do not write books, do telethons, never, ever ask for a dime, and the pastors own farms; they do not teach Gods Word or do any work at the Church for pay. none.
They believe that if a Church teaches truth, God will see to that Church's survival.
They offer a CD to get you started at no charge, not even postage. Nobody would ever call you or contact you ever again.
They teach on a college level, and get in about 500-600 new students every single week, without any telethons, without any side-show healings, nothing; all they do is read and help translate the Bible; verse by verse so that its completely understood. Thats it, nothing else. They started out with about 15 members, and just with reading the Bible and nothing else, they now go into
95 million homes. People are starving for the truth, and when they get some truth, they hunger for more.
If you want to study at home, get a Strongs
Exhaustive concordance which works well with the KJ Bible. If you want a better king james, get the Companion Bible published by Kreger - it includes alot of great information from the manuscripts.
Then call this toll free number and get the free CD and you decide what ya think:
1-800-643-4645 ask for the free CD.
You'll be really happy you did; and if not,
you can use it for skeet shooting, so no harm done, right?

I try to read The Bible everyday. Sometimes, I'm able to sit down and read several chapters; other days, I only read a few verses.

I try to read the Word everyday, get a one year bible and it's broken down for you as follows: old testament portion, new testament portion, a psalm, and a proverb. I have read the entire bible from front to back this way 3 times. And every time I see something new. I use the living bible version because it reads so beautifully.

Either the Bible, or the Catechism, or Vatican II, or a devotional work of some sort.
When I kept the liturgy of the hours, I certainly read the bible everyday - two psalms, a gospel passage, and a couple of canticles from the NT, every day.

Yes, usually in the morning and evening, but I have no rules! l see it as communication with God, a part of getting really quiet, experiencing his presence, praying and reading. The amount l read totally varies, all according to how rushed/tired/needy l feel! l think God understands humans like me...
