Hmmmmm...... Jer. 17:5, "Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes his flesh strength, whose heart departs from the Lord."

Job 27:3, 4,"As long as my breath is in me,and the breath of God in my nostrils. My lips will not speak wickedness, Nor my tongue utter deceit."

Usually I don't use Verses, but I hope they help you out!

The NKJV says: Sever yourselves from such a man , Whose breath is in his nostrils; For of what account is he? (Sever is reworded as, cease yourselves from the man) and For ( in what is he to be esteemed). The references are Jeremiah 17:5 and Job 27:3.

Proverbs 16:2

All the ways of a man are clean in his own sight,
But the Lord weighs the motives.

(Oh, Oh, sounds like critical thinking skills to me!)

Cost me a thumbs down, right?

There are many such verses which speak of the untrustworthiness of man. One that comes to mind from deuteronomy (sorry I don't have the exact citation) is God saying, "I am not a man that I should lie"

Perhaps.. this will be Your Answer....!

(Ecclesiastes 12:13-14) Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter. Fear God, and keep His commandments. For this is the whole duty of man.

(Ecc 12:14) For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it is good, or whether evil.

WE.... either ... TRUST... in God... His Word... His Commandments.... His Precepts.... and His Promises...

.... " OR "

We trust in ... MAN... and his earthly ' Politically.... [ INCORRECT ] ... System... and its Trappings!

Jesus said it even Better....!

(Luke 16:13) No servant can serve two masters. For either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

Psalms 146:3 Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.
4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.

Oh yes indeed. There is yet another line of reasoning in the same anthology that reads:
"The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked; who can know it." Jeremiah 17:9.

Can ye not feel the love?

Another Scripture (Psalms?) says "Some trust in cheriots, but I will trust in the name of the LORD".
