I'm not sure I fully understand what is being asked in this question.
If you are questioning whether or not the proposal is real, it's probably not. If you're not sure if it's okay to say yes....it's probably not.
When you are proposed to, and it feels right....you'll know. It's not something to do just because you feel like it, you know?
This is definitely one of those "follow your heart" things.

Well, since you know him better than we do, only you will know if he is being sincere or not. How did he ask? When he asked did he laugh or sound like it was just a joke or did he sound very serious? Did he have a ring? These are all things that you could ask yourself to know if he was indeed serious or not.

Depends on the guy, the situation, the conversation, the mood, you,.... so many different variables. Only thing you can do is ask.
p.s.... if a man asks you to marry him after sex, while naked, with no ring in site.... it doenst count!

Have you bothered to ask HIM since HE is the ONLY one that knows?
Ask him. If he was serious, and you said yes, then you are engaged.
