Okay. So, I had my period at an early age, was bulimic for my first three years of being a teenager, and I'm growing really slowly. I'm 5'0ish I think. And I'm like 15. Ish. =D
My mom says that PROTEIN helps you grow taller, and that growth hormones are actually MADE OUT OF protein. So that means that whenever I eat protein, I'm eating growth hormones, right? =SSSSS Well, it seems a tad bit weird and strange.
Does PROTEIN actually help you grow taller?
What about CALCIUM? And which of the two is more important to grow tall?
And since I hate eating MEAT, which is loaded with protein, I take protein powder and nutri-protein (stuff that you make protein shakes out of), does that help as much? I mean, it should, since I'm basically taking protein and excluding the carbs, right?
ALL HELP APPRECIATED, THANKS IN ADVANCE, <3!

Your doctor can prescribe human growth hormone if the spaces in your joints are far enough apart on Xray. Ask your doctor if he can determine if you need this. Lots of people stop growing because they run out of this hormone - even though there is still room to grow.
There are hundreds of kinds of proteins... There isn't just one protein. Calcium and Vitamin D in combination with exposure of your skin to sunlight a few minutes a day will boost bone growth and bone density. Protein supliments, as you are currently taking will certainly won't hurt this. Another help is exersize. Flexing your bones actually helps them grow.

Ok, growth hormones generally won't make you grow taller than you should, only grow quicker. They are recommended for some people who have health problems.
If you don't get enough protien or calcium, or if you suffer from illness while growing, you may not grow to your proper height.
So eat plenty of those 2 things. Protien can come from beans, tofu, dairy products and so on. But protien supplements will help. Calcium is in milk, dairy, tofu, chick peas.
Regular exericse will also help with growth.
Children should eat more dairy products than adults, and carbs are not such a problem if you exercise.
People grow to different sizes, maybe you will be a petite, but lovely girl.
A doctor could tell you more, if you eat healthily, you will not have health problems latter, which is the most important thing.

Your admission of bulimia in the past and the obvious incredible focus on your intake presently is diagnostic of an eating disorder.
Lots of manufactured powders, supplements in the absence of any pathology which causes an actual need, all of this is simply in service of the eating disorder. In other words, you are focused on your weight, growth, and the absolute control of what goes into (and comes out of ) your mouth in lieu of feeling enough in control of yourself to go "have a life."
If you want to grow taller, understanding that there are limits dictated by genetics, eat a balanced diet, get appropriate sleep, have good hygiene (a bath/shower a day, wash hands frequently, brush teeth three times a day), and engage in physical activity, preferably a physically active team sport.
Anything else and you risk being strangely shaped or malnourished due to deprivation of some important nutrient.
If you don't like eating meat, then eat beans (legumes), nuts and dairy. You'll get enough protein that way. Soy is a good source but you must make certain you also eat foods high in iron since soy has none at all and eating lots of it will make you anemic.
If you actually follow my advice, you will feel better, and partly because you have gotten your attention off yourself and out into the world--you will start having fun, you will be able to let go of some of this stranglehold you have on your body.

basically height of an individual depends on two most important factors: genetic and environmental. genetic means you will get an average height of both your parents, and environmental is what you eat and how u exercise. eating healthy, well balanced diet gives you good growth. yes proteins build up body, and no eating only protein shall not help. its always healthy to eat natural foods then artificial or preserved. proteins can also be obtained from milk and legumes besides meat. skipping, jogging, helps long bones to grow.(height to increase).but remember its difficult to become taller after 18-20 years as your growth plates of bones fuse together,so eat well n wise, exercise to be healthy and tall.

Sorry. Your peak as well as all different qualities, have been decided at your start. If you're nonetheless underneath 18 or so, you should still develop in top. Not guaranteed. Once I used to be thirteen, I grew a foot unless I was once 14. I believe I grew an additional 2 inches after that. I as soon as knew a young man who went into the provider at 18, with height below 6 toes. He was stationed overseas and at 21, wrote his mom that he was once 6 '5". That is hell on garb, as I bear in mind outgrowing shoes and so forth each couple months.

There is nothing that will make you grow taller. Your height is determined by your genetic make up. However, eating a properly balanced diet will help you to achieve your maximum growth potential. Both physically and mentally.
