Even if HUMANISM is not regarded to as a religions, like ppl on here already stated, I see what you mean, and I think that there is no real difference between a philosophical path and a religions path, because both, religion and philosophy is a certain way to think. Maybe religion also implies a certain way to "feel". But hey, a feeling is always coupled with thoughts.

However, I am very sure, that if ALL people on this planet would think the same (good) way, it could be a better world.
For this, it does not matter if its HUMANISM or any other moral, religious or philosophical way.
The key here is, that there will be no hate just because somebody believes in something else.

An easy example. If there is only one race, lets say if there is just white people, there can not be racism.
An other example: if everybody would have exactly the same wealth and possessions, there would be no envy on somebody who has more (maybe just the eager to gain more like you r neighbor).

If everybody is equal in every way, some of todays problems like racism and disputes over different religions would not exists. But maybe then, some new problems would evolve.
Consider this:

Example: communism. the basic idea of communism was, that everybody shares everything. Well, it did not work out, right ? I think, its simply not in humans genes to accept to be equal. A human always seeks to be the one and only individual, he seeks to be different.

Example: at a party, two girls wear exactly the same outfit: a disaster for them !

So my answer is simple: you would get rid of some problems, but you would create other problems.
To really change the world a better place, you wo;d need to change how a human beeing "works", thus, make him a robot or something.

Nothing specially happens with humanism. Population without religions would be bored without the complex problems that has interwoven the social fabric as of now.

Humanism is truly a broader concept. With humanism you would become more matured and compassionate. You become active and alive to various environmental problems. You would be supposed to be a vegetarian as a humanist. You would start loving things around and will be afraid to kill or harm anything or any one.

Do not you understand that. Hope you did. So with all this you become more naturally moral and naturally ethical. The whole earth would be vibrant with such one-ness. Still you would start looking around for a greater peace.

With religions abound now and too many other material problems you search for a peace of humanism. With humanism greatly around, you would look for a better and greater peace than that. You would not be satisfied.

First of all 'humanism' is not a religion. It is a philosophy about life. It seems more reasonable than most religions of the world because it deals with what is best and or right for humans. We are humans. Make sense now? If humans follow humanism, seems to me the world would be a better place for all of us.

Funny. Weird funny.
So many seperate humanism from religion.
And we wonder where doubt comes from? Huh. Interesting point of view.
I always pictured a truly religious person to possess this quality of humanism. Not necessary a religion in its self but an important factor to religion. Not to be discredited.

Humanism as in secular humanism? We would have a very kind, loving, caring population and fewer wars. The world would be a happier place...

Then man becomes the author of Moral Law. And since they can't seem to agree on anything being absolute...there can not be perfect justice. Let every man decide for himself what is right and wrong, and you have 4 billion different standards of right and wrong.

Also...we've seen state governments prohibit religion and pursue their form of Humanism....look to Lennin, Stalin, Hitler, Mao, Pol-Pot....might get a good taste of what the answer to this question is

It depends on who they follow in the form of a person or prophet, more than what they are or profess to be.
