Yes and more than that, we have 8 senses:
1)Eyes - Sight
2)Ears - Sound
3)Nose - Smell
4)Tongue - Taste
5)Body - Touch
6)Mind - Feeling
7)Alaya
8)Vijnana

The sixth, seventh and eighth consciousness' are also called mind-consciousness'.
The eighth mind-consciousness is the planting field of the mind.
The seeds of all affairs, virtuous and evil, of our aeons of many past lives are planted here.

In lay-mans term, what you do in this life every Information is store in the 8th sense and 7th act as a transporter to form your look and characters next life.

I don't think a sixth sense is something mystical. It is being aware of your surroundings and knowing what to watch for in people's facial expressions, body posture, etc. I have also experienced De Ja Vu where you feel like you have been somewhere before or felt like you have done something before. And I accept the scientific findings that you have experienced something similar before, seen it on movies, or heard someone talk about it. Now ask me if I believe in ghosts? You bet!

You mean the vestibular sense?
Yup. And the seventh (proprioceptive) as well.

See? Science and reality are always at least one step ahead of the new-agers and supernatural believers. You should see how far ahead we are of the folks who like to talk about there being a fourth spatial dimension (scientists believe there are either 10 or 11).

I like Paul's answer but I hope he realizes that what he said puts them about 5000 years behind the Hindus.

Indeed I do. I have learned to trust it, rather than disregard it. When I disregard it I'm doing myself a disservice. I was kicking myself in the butt for not listening to it. I have made the decision to follow it always now.

I like to call it your soul sense. You can feel things from the other side, that I like to think we go to when we die. If not, that is gonna be one boring time.

No.

Well sometimes we pick up things sub-consciously and it seems that way, but the information really comes from the five we know about.
