Are constantly saying, in reference to piercings and tattoos, "Think about when you're 50 and you have grandkids!"

Because you know what? I'm not 50. And I don't have grandkids.
Live a little.
Geez.

AMEN! I dont expect everyone to love my tattoos, but for crap sakes, I dont need to hear about it every 5 seconds. It was my decision, its on my body. People who dont like them seem to actually get mad that I have them....which actually amuses me a little. I don't get mad that they dont have them...why should they care if I do? Oh well. Some people have no life and need to get pissed off at the things other people do, that dont even affect them, at all. Sure I'll have it when I'm 50, I considered that for a while before making my decision. I didnt just wake up one day and decide to go pick a tattoo off the wall and get it done. And sure, when I'm 50, it probably wont be sexy, but hey, it'll be a reminder of a time when I was younger. I'll look at it and remember my 20s. Plus by the time we're in our 50's, the majority of our age group will have tattoos as well so it's not like we're going to be outcasts. I think it's sad that people are still so misinformed, and think everyone with tattoos is a criminal or easy, or an idiot. It just so happens, I love tattoos, I have a crystal clean record, I decided to save myself for marriage, and while Im not the smartest person on earth, I'm by no means, an idiot. They've literally been around for thousands of years.. You'd think people would've learned to accept them by now.

And, for the person above me who said you'll burn in hell, I happen to be a christian, with tattoos. You know what? I'm not going to burn in hell, and I think my wrinkley @ss will be my own problem when I'm older, not yours.(Unless you'd like to kiss my future wrinkley behind) Get a life, geek.

Yeah, I can't stand those people. Half of them aren't even 50 with grandkids, so how the heck would they know? Besides, when I'm 50 with grandkids, every other 50 year old will be in the same place as I will...tattooed and pierced with wrinkles!

Ok everybody! Life does not end when you turn 30!
The next time someone smarts off and says that to you, look at them and tell them you plan to be just as gorgeous at 50 as you are in your 20's.
There is no rule that once you hit a certain age your body goes south - only if you let it. There are a lot of incredibly beautiful women (and handsome men) in their 50's, 60's and beyond.
I'm about to turn 40 and I'm in the best shape of my life.
I'm not your average mom and I like it that way, and I don't plan to be the average grandmother either.....
Don't give anyone the satisfaction of getting under your skin with their comments.

Oh yes -- it is very annoying when people that do not have body art feel compelled to put down those of us that do. Whether our tattoos look good or not in the future is nobody's business but our own.

I am 48 and I have 25 tattoos and they all still look damn good to me. In fact I am getting 2 more tattoos this evening.

People need to accept other people that look different - period! I don't go around insulting others because they do not have tattoos.

I am annoyed. I have it for me, not them. And if they don't like tattoos, then why answer on tattoo questions. Also, Why do they ask tattoo questions that bash tattoos... I love my piercings, I am getting more, and I love my tattoo, and I am planning more.

When I am old, I will still be myself, and I don't care what people think now, why would I start then. My grandkids will love me anyway.

That very true!!! i love tattoos i just have one cuz i'm 17 i got this checkerboard disign around my bicept to symbolize my love for ska music everyone complaments my tattoo. tattoos are getting more execptable with every passing decade hell when i was in middle school i had a 20 something year old science teacher who was covered in tattoos she was ****** rad as ****. Plus technolagy is getting more advanced every year by the time where in our 50's you'll probaly be able to completely remove a tattoo with no scarring.

You know what's even more annoying? The people who constantly tell me I'm going to hell because of it.
1) I don't believe in hell.
2) It's my body.
3) If you don't like it, don't look.

Also, the way I see it, these tattoos are going to look good a lot longer than they will look bad. And not every old person is saggy and immobile. I plan on be fairly healthy. 50 isn't that old buttheads.

LOL, I usually hear about when i'm 80. Like my skin will be so beautiful anyway. I don't plan on running around nude in my senior years, so if it doesn't look good I won't care. Not to mention i'll have a permanent reminder of my fun filled youth. I think so many peoples misconceptions are based on seeing their grandparents etc. mililtary or "prison style" tats. All black ink that fades to gray and blurs together. There have been lots of advancements on the ink, and colors last so much longer. Love your ink, screw what other people think.

Then I'll be the cool grandma on the block...haha!

Seriously....by the time I'm 50 I doubt that I'll give a damn what anybody thinks (not that I really do now) and I know that I'll have lived my life on my terms and did what made me happy.

My grandfather had tattoos and I thought they were great. Growing up with that made me not fear or judge people with tattoos.
