How would you feel after having a litter.
Maybe exhausted? Wondering what you were thinking well maybe she is wondering what you were thinking making her go through it.

If you are unsure with anything the vet has said or done the best thing to do is speak to them first. I sometimes get people who are very concerned over nothing who need reassurance, or people who didn't take in everything that was said initially and don't come back for check ups when recommended which can be very frustrating.
If you are still unhappy then seek a second opinion from another vet at the surgery, or another practice. Let them know in advance that it is a second opinion and they can then get hold of the records so they can use all the available information.
Judging by the symptoms you describe this could be something to worry about but equally the treatment may be appropriate, you don't mention what the tablets were.
Also, make sure she is being fed a complete puppy food as this has the correct balance of nutrients for a lactating b!tch to support her young, particularly calcium and energy as these can be low in bitches fed an improper diet.
Basically, talk to your vet again and if unhappy seek a second opinion.

Take him to the vet, soon! Don't be embarrassed....your a good mama since you care so much about your piggy. It's the vets job to take care of your pig. You got your second guinea pig at Petco, right? I would say maybe there was an infection going around their guinea pigs. Or they did not have the right bedding in the cage--maybe it was too dusty and caused respiratory infections? If, unfortunately, the 2nd guinea pig passes away, I would get another guinea pig from somewhere else. Make sure you disinfect the cage and food dish, water bowl, etc. first, though. Were the guinea pigs getting a draft? This can cause pneumonia. Were you using cleaning products near the cage or in the cage to clean it? This can cause respiratory problems. If a cleaning product could irritate a human's throat/lungs, then it can be even more of a problem with tiny animals, like guinea pigs. I hope you can find out what is causing these problems. Good luck!!!

I would take her to another vet and get a second opinion. My Dog had puppies and never reacted like that. It doesn't sound right to me, espeacially if she's got a tempiture and crying all the time, she is obviously in some distress. It is possible that she may still have a puppy inside. I suggest you take her to another vet a.s.a.p the longer she left the worse she could become and definalty change vets too. Good luck

If you are not happy with the way your vet treated you take her to another vet for a second opinion.
My female pants more after having puppies (current litter is 5 weeks old and she still pants when she's with them). Laying with the puppies makes them hot, plus I'm sure a little uncomfortable at nursing time. My female has not had a temperature though.
Many things could be wrong...a puppy or a placenta that was not delivered is a serious and life threatening problem. Take her to another vet for a second opinion and make sure they check her thoroughly!!
Good Luck

You can get a 2ND or 3rd opinion from another vet if in Doubt and it is worth getting other views, my friends took her female to her vet( she had got a high temperature) and the vet failed to Diagnose a womb infection(pirametra) she wasn't happy with vets advice told a friend at the Boarding Kennels where she worked her Friend told her to get 2nd opinion she did and was told it was pirometra and they needed to operate immediately(Hysterectomy) as she would die in a couple of hours in not.
even now 2 years after loosing her dog (Due to other complaints) my frieND still talks saying how glad she was that she got the 2nd opinion.
Also she may not have passed all of the placenta as if some is still remains this could start a infection and cause irritation.

A dam should not have a temp. after whelping at all. She may be retaining a pup. See another vet for yours seems to not want ot help you much. I dont know what the tablets were but bring them with you to show the new vet. If she is still showing signs of a fever she needs help now.
Good Luck!

The vet knows what they are doing. Have confidence in that.
The Mom needs to have loads of extra nutrition now that she has given birth. She will burn a lot of energy feeding her litter.
Let her rest in a quiet place for a few days. Tell the visitors to back off. Give her extra treats and affection, if she is up for it.
Take her back to the vet if she stops eating or drinking, caring for the pups, sleeps most of the time, doesn't have the energy to go out, or starts bleeding.

If your pet has a tempature, this is a sign of an infection just like in a human.Would suggest seeing another vet.She should have been put on an antibiotic. If your pet has a green discharge, take her to vet asap,as a dead pup may still be within her.

If that Vet did not do really good exam with hands on her belly and/or x-ray her - GET TO ANOTHER VET NOW! The elevated temp indicates infection. My concern is that she has dead puppy still inside

No this is not normal change vets And get ur dog to a new one If she did not pass all her placentas when she had her pups they could be decaying inside her. Get to the vets and have her checked out immediately. I don't mean to scare u but it could be serious. Please go asap
