Yes.
Osteoarthritis means that supporting cartillage is destroyed or loses elasticity. It can happen by disease or injury.

Muscle strengthening does improve the condition and helps to relieve pain. Weight training helps me keep mine in check. Glucosamine and chondrotin also seems to help.

OH YES!!!!!
I had my total knee replacement by the age of 40! I had to have 7 knee surgeries prior to the big one because of osteoarthritis. Take Chondroitin, Glucosamine,Hyaluronic Acid, MSM and Cologen supplemants. I wish I would have known this info at your age. SAVE YOUR KNEE!
A great combo of these is "Fluid Motion" by "healtHDirect" I just bought it last month for my father to keep him from facing a TKR. He is now pain free 30 days later.
If intrested there is a phone number on the bottle... here it is #1-800-414-4496. No I don't sell it and all I know is it works very well.

People can have osteoarthritis from injuries at young ages. My 25-year-old son messed up his knees playing soccer with all his heart and soul in middle school, and has some osteoarthritis in his knees. But see a doctor and rule out some other things, too, like chondromalacia and bursitis.

Yes they can, I was diagnosed with it at age 27. People with degenerative bone disease are very prone to this. The pain can be unbareable, so my doctor prescribed me 600 mgs of motrin when needed.. it has been wonderful!
