If your allowed BAH for E-3 is $1,039.00 arn't they supposed to give you that much and not just how much the rent is? Rent is $896.00 a month and i just seen mypay on the allotment page for only that much but not the whole $1,039.00. this is my first time living off post so i dont know everything. what i was told was i would get any money left over sent to my checking acct to have for whatever i want. Where they right or no?

Im not the one in the military its my husband but i already asked him and the rest of the money goes in every month on the 15th and NO you never get paid more for garbage disposal and other stuff. thats on you and your money. BAH is for only rent where you are living..Thanks everyone for the help.

If I'm not mistaken, they split it between checks. Like half on the 1st and the other half on the 15th.

You should get the full BAH but it is split between checks. There is a part on the LES however that says something like zipcode, dependents, and rent amount. That's at the bottom in the boxes and is NOT what you are actually being paid. It's whatever is at the top where it says base pay, BAS, BAH, etc.Make sure you are looking at the right part (I've seen some friends get upset thinking they were getting paid wrong and were just looking at the wrong spot) When there's an issue with your pay you eventually talk to the finance dept (though you are supposed to go up your chain of command first) They'll fix it and pay you any back pay you are owed. My husband had an issue with not getting paid BAS for a few weeks but once the finance dept was made aware of it it on;y took a few days to get posted to our account.

if you are living OCONUS('cept AK and HI), you only get the amount of rent, not the entire alloted OHA.
Otherwise, you are correct, you get the entire alloted BAH whether or not you use it, but as was stated earlier, it is divided up between the 15ths pay and the 1sts pay.

tell your sgt about it. dont go straight to your cpt. if you go to the cpt first he is going to call in your sgt., squad leader, platoon leader, and platoon sgt and ask them what they are doing about. and they will all be angry because it will be the first that they have heard of it.
BAH is for rent, as well as electrical, garbage, and gas. so yes you should have gotten more in my opinion.
