I'm simply amazed at how many people received thumbs down when they answered yes to this question. What rock, bridge or alley way do you people come out from??
Could it be anymore obvious?

Spazzthe crime that they committed is a paperwork crime. There is a huge difference between being a violent criminal and not sending in the paperwork. I believe the crime is actually a misdemeanor.
I dont think they are any more "criminal" than I am by not registering my car on time
First of all it's a federal offense. A criminl is defined as someone who has broken a statute of law. These both go hand in hand. Honestly, how can you agree with her reasoning? Registering your car and border crossing are on complete ends of the spectrum.

Spazz; You make me laugh. Yes, non violent crimes are dealt with by fines, I agree. You're failing to see that they're crossing borders from one nation to another. It's certainly different.

Sigy; By the very adjective illegal you can't ignore the fact that it's criminal. Committing something illegal is a criminal act. I'm assuming you mean by the persons definition and I understand. I wasn't trying to attack your question I just found it boggling that so many people received stars down. I guess not everyone feels that crossing a border illegally is illegal. I don't understand but to each his own.
