I know this ? might sound completely silly, but I'm completely serious...

Is it more eco-friendly to have short hair?

I mean, you use less shampoo, which means you have to buy them less often, so you use less plastic. And, when you blow-dry your hair, although I rarely do, unless I have to, it takes a shorter time, you use less energy.

Cause I was thinking about cutting my hair shorter, right now it is below my shoulder blades.

I'd say you're right on with your thinking. Makes sense to me.

While short hair is generally easier to manage there are tons of ways to be green and still keep your long locks. For starters, most hair types don't need to be shampooed more than once a week (doesn't count plain showers).

Or, see if there are any eco-friendly soap stores in your area that will let you bring in your empty shampoo bottle to fill up when it's empty (we have one in my city and I do that with dish and laundry soap).

Or, the cheapest choice of all, go no-poo! The no-poo method of washing your hair basically entails washing your hair one tablespoon of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) dissolved in a cup of warm water (or more, if you have lots of hair but keep the one:one ratio). There's lots of different ways to do no-poo and there's many many benefits. Check out my source to learn more.

just think, during the winter your hair will be short so you will be colder, requiring more heat to stay comfortable.fossil fuels! but long hair you can tie back to stay cool in the summer,no air conditioning needed.
you can also use concentrated shampoos that will give you a full head of lather with about a dime to a nickel sized drop of the stuff!
and about blow drying, use a wide tooth comb or styling brush when blow - drying your hair and you can reduce drying time by 30% to 50%!!
woo hoo!! long hair is environmentally friendly!!

When my hair was shorter I had to wash it everyday, because it would stick up and have a (cow lick).now that my hair is longer I only wash it twice a week or every other day in the summer if I sweat a lot.I like long hair better,I don't have to do so much maintenance.Do want you want it's your hair.

(Many blessings)
