Some are made from soy and others are made with vital wheat gluten. Seitan tastes and feels nothing like it and neither does baked gluten.

Channille got it! It really is nothing more than dehydrated seitan or TVP.

It's not *that* hard to make (I make my own), the only tricky part is getting the moisture content right before dehydrating it and then keeping the moisture level correct as it dries. Veg jerky is something that *requires* a real dehydrator to make correctly.

We have a Primal Strip Club in my city, but it's in the Neanderthal part of town, and it's not safe for the Cro Magnons to go there after dark.

I think its just seitan that's marinated then placed in a dehydrator to give the jerky texture..

I don't know what that is but it sounds like something you would feed your dog and your avatar scares me lol. Good luck finding out though.
