No, this is not in her head.

Diabetics get tingling or buzzing sensations in the smallest and farthest nerves (hands, feet, lips, etc) for many reasons. The first is nerve cells are one of the few cells that do not need insulin to transport sugar into the cell, so they react differently when blood sugar gets low. Another reason is that nerve cells are less able than muscle or other organ cells to compensate for low blood sugar by breaking down other substances for energy. A third reason is your body's reaction to low sugar is to release epinephrine (adrenalin) which causes the body to produce more sugar. Adrenalin also has the side effects of a nervous feeling, tingling, increased heart rate, etc.

Because of this, most of the symptoms seen in low blood sugar have to do with the nervous system such as tingling or other strange sensations, dizziness, shaking, hunger, sweating, confusion, etc

I do the exsact same thing, once i was over a friend's house and passed out because i told her mom i was feeling shaky and she told me just to relaxe ( when i was smaller ). When she say's this you need to get her something to eat or drink quickly :) Hope i can help

One of the signs of low blood sugar is feeling weak and wanting to pass out and very dizzy. Another sign is staying thirsty all the time, and frequent urination. And no it is not in her head. It could also be the sign of her sugar being too high. She really needs to have it checked by a physician.

I don't think it is in her head. It could be one of her sign of low sugar. She probably tends to be more quiet and confuse, no eyes contact. If you look into her eyes, you can tell she is not there.

what she means is she gets girtery and its like you are nervous but its from low blood sugar and yes it can be felt and yes you can know it sometimes you can feel faint also. its not in the head its real and very scary sometimes.
