Read 1 Corinthians chapters 12 through 14 in the New Testament. Christians receive spiritual gifts. Some speak in tongues and some don't but have other gifts. As for the demons he saw, the Bible says that to those who believe in Christ, greater are the temptations that will beset him. Maybe they were attacks from Satan. Also, to those who believe and do wrong, greater is the punishment.

The letter kills but the Spirit gives life......2 Corinthians 3:6 I speak in Tongues and interpret 18 years but I'm out of fellowship with Christians 8 years......The law, the letter got in the way of the Spirit. I'm glad there's still Christians speaking in Tongues, I'm not glad the Spirit is restrained. 1 Corinthians 13:8 in the end they wont want the Gifts of the Spirit only the Law.

Speaking in tongues is a gift of the indwelling holy spirit. Contrary to some pentecostals teaching not everyone has the gift. I don't and most people dont. One Sunday we had a visiting pastor in the congregation at our Church. During our quiet time of prayer and suipplication he began speaking in a Nordic tongue. He waw behind me and the tone and volume and power of his voice made every hair on the back of my neck stand up. After he finished he was given the interpretation and then recited that in his normal voice. It was a message from God about obedience to God and his commandments. This was one of the most powerful experiences I have ever witnessed of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. It was genuine. Our Pastor also was given the interpretation. Now on the other side of the coin , I visited a charismatic fellowship where they insisted that everyone speak in tongues. I never heard so much senseless babbling in all my life. It was absolutely evil, people falling over backwards like at a Benny Hinn show , babling nonsenseical gibberish with no interpretation and was as phony as a three dollar bill. So be carefull with how you approach this because there are many fakes out there. Also if someone is faking speaking in tongues it is a sin and not of God. Sometimes the tongues can come from Satan and usually they sound like it..... babbling gibberish. Take heed sister

Speaking in tongues is generally done at two different times.
Ether as a private prayer language or as edification for believers. And if the second is done, then there also must be a translation as well by two or more people.

And honestly I can't explain the seeing demons thing well. But I know what he is talking about. Sorry I couldn't help you there.

enable's seem at those passages in Acts 2 and 19. Act 2:4 and that they have been all crammed of the Holy Spirit, and started out to communicate in different languages, by way of fact the Spirit gave ability to them to communicate. Act 2:5 And Jews have been living in Jerusalem, non secular adult males from each u . s . a . of those under the heaven. Act 2:6 yet this sound happening, the multitude got here mutually and have been confounded, by way of fact they each heard them conversing in his own dialect. Act 2:7 And all have been surprised and marveled, announcing to a minimum of one yet another, Behold, at the instant are not a great form of those, those conversing, Galileans? Act 2:8 and how can we hear each in our own dialect wherein we've been born, Act 2:9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and those living in Mesopotamia, the two Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Act 2:10 the two Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt, and the areas of Libya over against Cyrene, and the quickly living Romans, the two Jews and proselytes, Act 2:11 Cretans and Arabians; in our own languages we hear them conversing the large deeds of God? Is the tongues spoken right here performed by skill of all or merely the apostles? grew to become into it a secret language to desire to God with or grew to become into it languages of the individuals in Jerusalem on the time? What grew to become into the objective, own edification or for spreading the gospel to those that did no longer communicate the hardship-loose tongue? Act 19:6 And Paul laying palms on them, the Holy Spirit got here on them, and that they spoke in languages and prophesied. Act 19:7 And all the adult males have been approximately twelve. right here lower back, it incredibly is languages, no longer a secret language. It grew to become into the flexibility to communicate in languages that others comprehend. Tongue conversing that is going on in many Pentecostal or Charismatic church homes isn't Biblical for my area. you will no longer locate everywhere in Scripture the place tongues is seen some secret language that merely God knows. It grew to become into for a particular objective, to unfold the gospel and edify different believers, for this reason we've any presents. No present is for inner maximum edification.

Pentecostal and Charismatic Christians speak in tongues and the rest do not.

Tongues speaking, which is "God -directed gibberish"beyond the, is one of the "word gifts" or "prayer gifts" taught in 1 Corinthians. As a Word gift it is to be interpreted by someone given the gift of interpretation.

Many people with "ecstatic religious experiences' report visions( good and bad), locutions or verbal messages.

It might be good for you to talk to his pastor about the charismatic gifts

That nonsense babblin' those christians do who suddenly find themselves 'awash' in the spirit, is nothing but horse-manure. They just babble incoherently.

Speaking in tongues means nothing more than being able to speak to people of different languages about the religion.

About the seein' demons and spirits and whatnot I think I'd tell him to lay off the weed.

Most Christians misunderstand the Gift of Tongues. Make sure he understands that he gift is given to missionaries to aid them in preaching the Gospel. It is only given when someone is able to understand what is being said...
Id est, if a person who is preaching The Gospel comes accross a person who will not be able to hear it unless they speak their language will be given a gift to speak that person's language. I've seen it myself.
