Fo the first evening meal on the trail, I usually freeze the meat and wet ingrediants prior to leaving, then, pack em in a big ziploc wrapped in a towel. By the time your long day is at an end, the food should be just about thawed out for cooking. As for the next few days, you can buy canned meats online that were designed for storage on sail boats on long trips. But it is pricey. Freeze dried meals work well, military meals (MRE's) work good too as it is just heat and serve ( or serve cold). Mititary "T" rations work for a group. They are prepared meats in gravy, lasagne etc in a covered metal tray, require no refrigeration and are heat and serve. Then there are canned meets at the grocery store as well. Hope this helps.

Don't take perishables like fresh veggies and meat. There isn't any way of keeping them fresh other than packing them in ice.
Carry freeze dried things like top Ramen Noodles, Etc. , Dried meat to put in the Noodles, Instant Rice in Zip Lock Bags with dried meat or fruit in the rice. (1/2 cup dried = 1 cup re hydrated). Instant Coffee / Coco, Drink Mixes.
Take cans if you don't have to carry the weight. If you are going to back pack, cans will weigh too much.

Bread and PB in a good ziplock bag or water tight container...I used a 5-gal bucket with a lid last time I went camping/canoeing. It was a good thing because I tipped over. Also anything in a can and a can opener (beenie weenies, sardines, or whatever you like cold). There are also dehydrated soups and noodles that you can add hot water to, if you are making a fire at your campsites.
Have Fun

You can always take things like Dinty Moore beef stew, Ravioli, etc. Things that have meat in them that can just be heated over a fire. Also, I always freeze my meat solid before going camping, that way you can have fresh meat (steaks, etc.) a day or two after you leave. It'll take at least a day or two for them to thaw out. To keep things extra cold in the cooler, I freeze a gallon of water, koolaid, tea, whatever and you can drink it as it melts but it also helps keep things cold a while longer. Hope that helps.....have fun campin'!
