Vegetarians are selfish.why do selfish bunch of people think that being vegetables is good dont you see you would destroying the meat farming industry if everybody started to become vegetables. Bunch of no hopers with attention grabbing personalities thats what you are in my opinion. Do you not think there are a variety of menatl disorders that can be attributed to this vegetarian lunacy? The current level of delinquency has grown in proportion to the rise in vegetarianism hasnt it?

Mind 16 pretty soft target at that age so maybe your kind of retorc will work with her LOL

Why is it people like you see to feel like you can take the moral high ground, has it occurred to you that you are the selfish one.
You are the individual who is exploiting animals irrelevant of the the pain and suffering you cause them for profit.
If you make your living off a animal and you can't survive without it does that make you a parasite.
Actually I think this question is a wind up. I think you are just winding up vegetarians for fun.
I think judging from the answers of some of the meat eaters they have already succumb to mad cows disease or mad c**ts disease.

And WHAT is SOOO bad about vegetarians? You are just critisizing them...I'm thinking about becoming a vegetarian. So, a-hole, when you are lying in a hospital bed having just suffered a heart-attack from eating to much red meat that clogged your arteries with plaque, I hope you will be regretting saying what you have said here. Vegetarians are VERY healthy and you mister have proved no point here. Oh, and why in the HELL would vegetarians kill the meat industry? Yes, I can say there are probably more meat-eaters out there than vegetarians, and that they are not going to hurt your wonderful friends at the industry. And, NO, there are no mental disorders. You, on the other hand are a different matter. I think you need to check that out. I'm not saying you should become a vegetarian. Stay who you are for all I care, but just think about what I have said and examine the facts. They are not attention grabbers either...two of my friends are vegetarians and they are quiet most of the time. So how about reconsidering your opinions...

Well, aside from the tone of the question, which is somewhat argumentative -
Yes, some people with mental disorders are attracted to veganism. Just like some people with mental disorders are attracted to certain political groups, guns, etc... That doesn't make the political groups or gun ownership invalid. IE: one issue does not ultimately affect the value of the other.
Re: the meat farming industry. Yep, if everyone went vegan/vegetarian, the meat industry would go bankrupt, and put alot of people out of work. It would also stimulate other industries, such as increased farming...and (easily arguably) be much better for the environment (because cattle raising is extremely destructive and hard to sustain.) So the balance is a positive result, which is a good thing.
And I'm pretty sure that there's never been any correlation between deliquency and vegetarianism.
The main issue--at least for me--is simply ethical. I see no reason to kill numerous sentient creatures, just for the sake of tradition and culinary preference.

I think what is lacking here is a clear view on something called freedom of choice! Why do you eat meat? Because you like it and choose to. Why are veggies veggy? Because they choose to be, whether it be from disagreeing with the killing of animals or whatever reason is still down to personal choice. I am a dedicated carnivore and my significant other is veggy. I would never dream of going veggy but I respect my other half enough not to eat meat in our house, a small sacrifice but I choose to do that. Being a former chef I found the challenge of creating vegetarian dishes exciting. Just one question on your post or more of an observation actually linking delinquency to vegetarianism. I think delinquency has risen more due to the withdrawl of corporal punishment than the rise in vegetarianism. What do you have against veggies? You seem to be on a single minded and handed campaign against veggies. Has one spurned you at some point in your life? Who cares! Your tirade has probably prompted a few people to have a dig at you and I don't blame them. If you want to find a more legitimate target for your distaste try people who speed in cars in built up areas, they are far more deserving!

1) I believe in preventing unwanted pregnancies in the first place--contraception. However, it should be up to a woman to decide when and if she becomes a mother. Many people in the "pro-life" movement oppose contraception. 2) How can you be pro-life and still eat meat? Did you know that 10 BILLION animals are born, bred, mutilated, and murdered every year for food in the U.S.? Those animals are torn apart in the slaughterhouse, and unlike a 10-week fetus who hasn't any sentience yet, they suffer greatly. 3) Oh, yeah, over 90 percent of all abortions take place before 10 weeks. 4) There are pro-life vegans and pro-choice omnivores. 5) PETA is funded by donations from people, not the government. There are plenty of anti-choice organizations out there who advocate for turning women into incubators. And some of them use the same ugly shock tactics, too. Or are you too young to remember Operation Rescue, headed by a former used car salesman? 6) Maybe you so-called pro-lifers should care about what happens after the kid is born. I care more about actual life than potential life--and that means, humans and non-human animals WHO HAVE ALREADY BEEN BORN. 7) This is a vegetarian and vegan board, about vegetarian and vegan living. Maybe you could ask your question somewhere else.

Well, I'm NOT a vegetarian, and I don't see why you should consider them selfish.
There are one or two people on here that seem to take great pleasure in insulting and abusing other users, rather than trying to inform us of the possible benefits of reducing our meat intake.
Of course vegetables are good for you as part of a balanced diet, and its MY opinion that delinquency has grown due to the inability of the government to impose suitable punishments within schools to curb errant behaviour right from the start.
As for the menatl (?) disorders - I don't think you need to look any further than the end of your own pen.

What the heck you talking about! Not everyone is smart enough to become a vegetarian. Meat is just an industry devised for some cowhands to meat their need for Money! Hence the word Meat!
Nothing wrong with that if you want to eat meat. If someone don't like meat why the heck should they be forced to eat it!
I was forced to group on that yecky stuff.. it's gross and bloody. It's terrible to me I never liked meat and never will. I'm not telling others not to use meat and I'm not telling vegetarians not to be vegetarian. It's simply different strokes for different folks. there will never be enough vegetarians or vegans to kill the meat industry! it's more likely to be the other way around.. Meat industry killing the Vegetarian farming industry of gardening of plants..fruits and veggies!
Why fight? There's room for both on this earth isn't there?

The meat farming industry is now so intense and on such a large scale that it is doing more harm to the environment and creating more pollution than exhaust fumes from vehicles and other industries. Many farm animals are in-bred mutants that would never have existed in nature. They are bred for slowness, stupidity, docileness. When did you ever see a naturally evolved creature that had an udder almost half its body size, or a bird that lays lots of eggs every single day. Except for high standard organic farms, many farm animals need drugs daily such as antibiotics to keep them alive because their conitions are so poor, for instance a dairy cow's lifespan 50 years ago was 20 or so years - nowadays they produce so much milk its 4 years. Some people believe that its wrong to do this to things that can think and feel. I don't believe being vegetarian has anything to do with a rise in mental illnesses. Has there been a rise in mental illness? I think you're confusing loopy activists with people who quietly chose to do/not to do things for ethical reasons.

I'm a vegetable now am I? That's a new one!
Yes of course the rise in delinquency MUST be attributed to vegetarianism... why didn't I think of that? I mean forget about the rise in technology... TV, video games, media and forget about the fact that we live in a desire-ridden society now... no it can't be that... must be the fact that a small number of people are eating a healthier diet. That makes sense!
How old are you David? I can't even be bothered to argue with you further because your views are absolutely ridiculous. Yes we're selfish and the world is going to end because we eat vegetables... we all hang our heads in shame... ever so sorry david.

What a load of bulls**t. I'm not a vegetarian and I frequently joke that "I didn't fight my way to the top of the food chain to become a vegetarian". But you are being ridiculous. How are vegetarians selfish in particular? They are no more selfish than you are. And no, there's no mental instabilities etc. connected with eating only vegetables! Grow up and learn before you make comments such as these here.
You are probably trolling anway.

I'm not sure anyone is advocating becoming a vegetable that's taking you are what you eat to far and that would just be silly oh and impossible. On the plus side obesity is rising more significantly in meat eaters so they can eat all the meat the vegetarians don't and you don't need to worry.
