if your blood pressure is "drastically high" then you should be seeing a doctor asap. Nothing you can do on your own will bring it down quickly. Now you can help to control blood pressure by keeping all sodium intake to less than 2000mg a day, by drinking 2 liters of water a day and by walking for a minimum of thirty minutes a day and by eating potassium rich foods, like a half cup of raisins daily. But "drastically high" blood pressure has to be brought down with medications, and quickly, over a fairly short time span such pressures cause permanent damage to blood vessels and organs and can even lead to stroke heart attack and death.

Medications including diuretics, removing as much stress as you can, limiting alcohol intake, increasing exercise (slowly), having a sleep study done to see if you suffer from Sleep Apnea, Limiting salt intake and drinking water, and having your blood pressure monitored every day.

main thing is just what are you calling drastic high bp?
My hypertension specialist told me if something has 325 gms of sodium in it put it down...don't add salt either, and don't eat salty foods. try (easier said than done) to reduce stress, check for sleep apnea for if you have that a CPAP machine will also help some...hasn't me yet but they say it will later on. Good luck to you
