"Hamsa Soham-Soham Hamsaha" is a Vedha Vaakyam (Vaakyam=Aphorism) of Hindu Religion. It is included among the "Maha(very great) Vaakyams-because it talks about Brahmam (very Superoir nature of God). All aphorisms talking about Brahmam are called Maha Vaakyams. There are a number of Maha Vaakyams in Vedham. A seperate branch Intreperting the nature of Brahmam(564 aphorisms) and Gloss written by 3 genius Scholars and 11 learned scholars on the basis of Vedham is known as "Vedhaantha". One International Hindu organisation has trnslated in their booklet the Maha Vaakyam)--"Hamsa Soham--Soham Hamsaha"-as "Let us create such a world again".This is NOT correct.---(A)Ham=I (remain)--Saha=Brahmam--Saha =Brahmam --Aham=I (remain)--"Hamsa Soham--Soham Hamsaha" ---=I remain Brahmam and Brahmam remains as me--same meaning is conveyed in another Maha Vaakyam -"Aham Braahmaasmi"---

P.S.:-(mention of Saha second time is missing in the main Post)

Narendra singji,Very precisely.I said the same thing.Once sri. Rajagopala Achari ,the first Indian Governor General of India ,instead of taking the literal meaning of Veda Maha vaakyam "Aham Brahmaasmi=(as)I remain brahmam, we may take "the Divinity(God ) is in me"--Tat Twam Asi=God is in you like that.As yourightly said "the nuances and sublities of interpretations of Religious Texts we leave for the Acharyas-Commeners like us take it, that "Divinity-God is in all of us."

In fact dualistic and non-dualistic philosophy is separated by this very same mantra. I will say that there is no dispute for people. It is for the learned preachers only.
