My boyfriend is a type one diabetes, we have been together for 3 years and only in the last year have we started to fool around. Last night when i was pleasuring him, he went soft. He says its not me, but it makes me feel ugly and not good enough. i know stress can have something to do with it, but he hasnt been taking care of his diabetes very well. he also smokes cigarettes and drinks occasionally. i was wondering if its a combined thing, or if its something with the diabetes

Yes his penis not working is directly related to him not taking care of himself. Its Gods way of completing the Darwin theory... survival of the fittest. If his gene pool is bad and he cant take care of himself then he cant reproduce... which is the main reason sex was invented.

You shouldnt think your ugly because a guy cant perform. Hes just lazy in more ways than one.

Yes. It can be either or a combination of the above. To test if there's not a serious problem, check him early in the morning before he wakes up. The penis has to get hard in the mornings while he's still asleep for it to stay healthy. That's the best time you can ride on top. It has to stay hard for an approx. length of time.
Anyway, don't worry it's not you because with diabetes that's normal. Combine that with a lack of sleep can cause that problem.
Also, to help you enjoy his unit more you can talk him into getting Viagra. That makes a very big difference. If you've never test rode a guy using Viagra, then you'll be very grateful for the enjoyable ride you'll get to have. Also be prepared to be worn out like you've never had been.
Take only half a pill, not a whole.
Hope this info helps. Don't worry it's not you. It is his health causing the problem.

Your boyfriend needs to pay closer attention to his diabetes. That's a large part of his problem.

He should see a urologist that specializes in erectile issues. He should also have his testosterone levels checked. Low testosterone is the most common cause of low libido in men. It's also common in men with diabetes. There are drugs out there that can work wonders in this area. Don't waste your money on viagra, use cialis, it works much better. If it doesn't work, there are incredibly powerful drugs he can try also. But they do require penile injections. This is really no big deal but many men are afraid of this and don't go this route. The best solution I've found is an injectible mixture called tri-mix. It's a combination of regitine, papavarine and prostaglandin E-1 (edex). It works very well with few painful side effects, and at a much lower injection volume. It acts similarly to cialis and the injectible drug edex, only combined into one injection. This eliminates the heartburn side effect of cialis.

In a nutshell, all ED drugs act to open the arterial pathway so blood can flow where it needs to be.

As far as testosterone goes, if you're attempting to have children, be cautious here. Testosterone lowers sperm count and natural testosterone production by overloading the feedback control loop that controls his natural levels. In short, excess testosterone will cause an area of the brain to think there is too much and shut off the generate testosterone signal. This signal also controls sperm production. There are alternatives to this too. by using gonadorelin or hCG you can bypass the brain and take over control of this area. This is not something your general doctor can do. A reproductive urologist needs to be consulted.

Above all this isn't your fault, it's a medical problem. It will take time but it can be solved.

In men there can be impotence problems associated with type one diabetes. If he's had it a long time it is even more likely that he'd have some problems. Unfortunately this is just another complication diabetics must face.

In general I would say this individual needs to take the diabetic condition more seriously and stop smoking and drinking as these will eventually become added risk factors to heart disease, high blood pressure and other serious conditions. ED is a minor problem compared to other issues that will only complicate and compromise overall health.

first off, he needs to quit smoking AND drinking. Alcohol and insulin is a deadly mixture, at least potentially. Also, I know that diabetes does cause erectile dysfunction. I really don't think it's your fault. Diabetes effects the penile function.

Cigarettes also release blood sugar in the body and can cause blood sugar to spike. He really needs to stop that.

He just needs to regulate his sugar more closely. Thats all

Even taking care of himself, erectile dysfunction is something that will happen to ALL male diabetics eventually. It is inevitable. Keeping your diabetes under good control can slow the process quite a bit.

Diabetes can affect the penis greatly. They have a higher risk of erectile disfunction (going soft) as well as a lower libido. Also, stress, blood pressure and medications can do it too. From the sounds of it, it is just a normal occurance with his diabetes. Usually, it will resume as normal in about 5 mins.

Diabetes has an ugly side! It kills the nerves in some parts of the bod. Toes, fingers, eyes, and sexual organs!!

It is not you!! Be as loving and supportive as you can, and get over the fact he didn't perform.

Cigarettes and alcohol are currently being blamed for causing every illness known to mankind and medicine!! Mostly they have nothing to do with any of it. It is just a scare tactic to make those of us who partake to quit doin it!!

High sugar levels can leave me feeling like not bothering with anything, especially "bedroom gymnastics" which my husband and I have enjoyed for 40 years!

Just don't fret about it!! It wasn't anything you did or didn't do! as one of my neighbors said "S*** Happens" and go have fun doin somethin else!! Life doesn't have to culminate in the bedroom, even if it is fun!!!
