In Canada we give them to the second-hand stores:
Salvation Army, St.Vincent de Paul, Goodwill, etc.
They don't accept personal items like underwear & socks.
They have arrangements to get things washed or cleaned.
What they can't sell, gets sorted for missions or shredded.
The fibres can be used for making many other things.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think we're at a stage where we can recycle fabric, I mean it is possible, but I don't know any company that does it here in Belgium. We just sell them again or send them to 3rd world countries.

Youi take em to Goodwill and they put them on hangers and get resold to handme down people.
