And why? Also, it's better or necessary to use a pillow top?

Didn't find any recipes for either foam or spring matresses, but would be willing to guess foam would be easier to cook with... try reading catergory before posting your next question...

I would buy pocketed coil mattress.
Pocketed coil mattresses were first introduced around 80 years back and are still popular. This is due to the high level of comfort they offer, particularly those who share the bed with others, who weigh more or less than themselves. Pocketed coils are separate steel inner-spring coils encased in pockets. They are then fused to make the mattress. As the springs are not linked there is more motion separation than traditional innerspring mattresses. All premium pocketed coil mattresses use high-tempered steel coils. Moreover, each mattress manufacturer has distinct design points that distinguish them from their competitors. Pocketed coil mattresses are also fused together with lots of materials like, latex, silk or wool fibres or memory foam, to give each mattress a distinct feel of support and comfort.

When selecting a mattress, you want to make sure it feels good to you.

I always suggest to people that they lie on a mattress for several minutes and then try turning to the position in which they normally sleep.

Although memory foam mattresses are fabulous for support, there are many people who can't sleep on foam for one reason or another.

The biggest thing memory foam mattresses are noted for is the slow recovery of the foam and this is displayed by the picture of a hand above the mattress with the hand print still showing in the memory foam.

This means that if you roll over and then back again, you might feel like you're rolling out of a hole because the memory foam still has your body impression in it.

If you're used to a spring mattress, you might want to check out some of the latest technology that makes instant recovery it's biggest benefit.

As you roll over, the coils instantly form to your every move, making for constant support.

The bottom line is that there is no "best" mattress for everyone, it has a lot to do with individual preference.

As far as pillow tops go, they are great feeling in the beginning but can soon start to compress and lose their pillowy feel so I don't think it's necessary or better to have a pillow top.

I love my memory foam mattress. When we go away for a while I'm always excitec to come back and get a good night's sleep on my beloved Tempurpedic. It was expensive, but I had bought a brand new coil spring with a pillow top mattress three years earlier for 3 grand and it ended up sagging and giving me lower back pain. The memory foam took about two weeks to get used to, but once I did, I wouldn't go back to anything else.

I did not like the memory foam mattress, I love my pillow top. It is just so soft and comfy.

The best mattress is the one that YOU find most comfortable - if there was truly a "best" one, the others would be obsolete. Ask the retailer if they offer any sort of a return or exchange or a comfort guarantee on your mattress purchase. That way you can spend a few nights on it to see if it works for you.

Brad Pitt once said the best mattress is a regular firm mattress with a foam topper. I agree.

I saw a 3 Stooges short where they ate a mattress; Shemp had a really hard time coughing up those feathers. I never wanted to try mattress after seeing that.

I've tried the coil spring, but chose to use neither today.

Futons for me, talk about memory. Add Vegan too, nothing but cloth and a little metal for a zipper.

Coil spring mattress has more iron, but the foam has more fiber.

Beds yum.
