A vet can do a quick exam for cataracts, if they are there and early then there are some eye drops which can be beneficial. If they are well developed they can be removed but without a lens the vision would not be greatly improved. Unlike people they do not often put intraocular lenses in dogs and they can not wear glasses. Diabetic vision issues are common and are the most likely cause. Except for good control of the diabetes, there is probably no good treatment in canines.

Cataracts are often a side effect from diabetes. I would speak to your vet about a referral to an opthalmologist. A opthalmic surgeon can remove the cataracts but they would only do this if your dogs diabetes was stable and he was fit for surgery. This procedure is expensive and carries risk, so if the pet is managing well then I would not have the procedure done. Speak to a vet.

I have a number of dogs who have had cataracts and have coped very well for many years with them. First thing, you need to see you vet to find out why your dog has gone blind. If he doesn't know he will rfer you to a specialist. Personally I would not have cataracts removed, particularly from a dog suffering from diabetes. It is not a simple surgery & some dogs do not cope well with a sudden return of eyesight. Cataracts come on slowly & the dog learns to adapt well as there is no sudden loss of sight. If Pippen has suddenly lost his sight it is not likely to be cataracts, you need to see a vet to find out the exact cause.

It is very likely as a result of diabetes if the dog has this problem. Cataracts can be removed but it's a very expensive procedure, but I dont think its a viable proposition at a late stage. Had a Yorkie go blind after having a sneezing bout when he had diabetes. Very sad.

Many common natural remedies are claimed to have blood sugar lowering properties that make them useful for people with or at high risk of diabetes. Learn here https://tr.im/oZeG9
A number of clinical studies have been carried out in recent years that show potential links between herbal therapies and improved blood glucose control, which has led to an increase in people with diabetes using these more 'natural' ingredients to help manage their condition.
