I am fourteen. I have many of the symptoms like: fatigue, urinating a lot, excessvie thirst, blurry vision (which I have had since October), and unexplained weight loss. I thought at first maybe the thirstiness was because I just got my toncsils out about a month ago, but I don't think the other symptoms are from this. I have taken risk tests online and I have a "low to medium risk." No one in my immidiate family has diabetes, however I do have an uncle, and some other distant relatives who have diabetes. My mother thinks my weight loss has something to do with my toncsils, but this has been over a month...I eat constantly, I can never really get full but I weight myself and I'm at the same exact weight. I am afraid to tell my mom that I think I have diabetes because my whole family thinks I'm a hypochondriac (I think i'm always sick or something is wrong) and that I just over exaggerate about these problems. If anyone thinks my symptoms are caused by something else please let me know.

You need to go to a Dr and have a blood test to determine if you are diabetic. Don't rely on symptoms to diagnose yourself. If you are diabetic you need to have it confirmed and treated.

Hello. I recently experienced the same symptoms. However I am much older than you. Diabetes has 3 symptoms that are usually linked. Polydipsia(above average thirst), Polyuria (above average urination), and Polyphagia (above average appetite). Weight loss is also associated with this disease as the cells of the body don't allow insulin to carry glucose out of the blood and into them to be used as fuel. The latter results in fatigue as the body starts to use less effecient fat and later muscle to fuel its needs. A simple blood sugar test at your doctor's office or a walk in clinic will let you know if your blood sugar level is normal. Your vision problem may be the result of high blood glucose levels. I would suggest that you see a medical professional ASAP. After all it is always better to be safe than sorry when it comes to your health. By the way, I was diagnosed as a Type 2 and I'm an RN.

Those are the symptoms of diabetes. PLEASE tell your mom immediately! You will need to be tested for your own peace of mind (if nothing else).
Your weight loss has NOTHING to do with your tonsils (unless they hurt so much that you stop eating).

Good luck. If you ARE diabetic, the sooner you are diagnosed, the sooner you can be put on a course of treatment. There is no cure, but at least you can try to avoid the damage that comes with uncontrolled blood sugars.

So who cares if they think you are a hypochondriac? Go to the doctor anyway and tell him/her the symptoms. Let him be the judge of what is going on. He has the degree in medicine, not your family. Symptoms are suspicious of diabetes but can't diagnose on the web so go to the doctor very soon and try to not stress over this.

Well you show the symptons, but when you are thinkin about it all the time, your mind being powerfull will induce symptons. Type 1 diabetes is not hereditary, no one knows the actual reason for it. You should definitely go to a doctor and get a blood test. Also ask him to do a H1AC test. This will reveal your blood sugar for the past 3 months.

Why gamble with your health? Go and see your doctor! And if you're a hypochondriac, stop diagnosing yourself on the net. This condition is called cyberchondria!

Like others have said... in this case, better safe than sorry. However since you have supposedly had symptoms since last year, you might not have it.
